Bose SubWoofer...Fixed by Dealer
Last week I reported that my Subwoofer on my 2000K max was not working, as if a fuse had blown. The dealer's head mechanic took his fist and gave the Subwoofer a knock....and the damn thing started working! He then changed the radio station and again it stopped working. At that point he stated that he would install a new subwoofer at no charge. That was when the eletrical guy came and looked at the speaker and said he know what the problem is. He disconnected the wire harness between the speaker and the power amp. and proceeded to remove the insulation to expose a small circuit board, sorry I couldn't get the number of the harness. On the board there is a relay (blue in color, 3/4 inch on all sides, made in Malasia marked on the relay). It was determined that there was a cold solder point on one of the points that is connected to the board. He wiggled the relay and noticed that it moved slightly. He then replaced the harness with a new one but stated that the old one just needed to be resoldered to be fixed. He also said that if the speaker or the power amp. were replaced the problem would still be there. He has seen this problem on many of the Maximas with Subs not working. Hope this helps someone...
