NOS or NOT

I do realize there is a nos area to post...but wanted to get soem opinions on NOS for an 02 SE with 3.5L...dry or wet set up, what do u guys like better? If done properly and not abused....maybe 1-2 sprays a week...can u still get plenty of life out of the engine on stock internals?(150K miles?) What is the overall attitude among people on this site regarding adding lets say a 100 shot to the 3.5L? What else has to change when you do it? Bottle warmer? Remote openers? Fuel pumps? Some testimonials would be sweet...

Anything more than a 75 shot, youll probably want to upgrade your fuel pump for sure.

Come on guys...who has done this to their car? NOS on an 02 maxima. Am I asking for trouble, or is it a nice thing to have if you can resist using it all the time. Testimonials from people with 02 or 03 max that have sprayed is what I'm after...you can search for days, but I want to hear you describe your experience with the gas..thanks

Im on a wet setup on a 75 shot which is alot stronger than that dry NOS kit...

I wouldnt recommend it on stoxck internals after 150k miles, thats insane, Howd you get that on a 2k2?

The vq35 just seems like its hungry for juice , it handles and accepts it very well.

Im movin up to a 100 shot next week and just need to see if the pump can handle it and keep the fuel constant, 2k2's fuel delivery system stays pretty constant due to a returnless fuel system..

I would say go for it if your under 100k
I wouldnt recommend it afterwards...

try the nitrous forum...theres some gurus in there...(Jime)

So in your opinion, NOS is safe for an 02-03 automatic?? I have 1600 miles on mine now and I want to wait until I hit like 30k....

Is it safe to spray liberally and not worry bout an after effects?? how long does your 75 shot tank last and how much HP would you say it adds to the car on demand?

Sorry for the confusion...I have 20k miles on my 02...i want to be able to get 150K plus miles out of my engine and am wondering if Nitrous is done properly...is it possible to get that kind of engine life...My thoughts are to get the venom kit because it taps into the ecu and monitors things much better. I want to do nitrous the right way and have no chance of blowing my engine. Probably a 100 shot will be sufficient..I have been talking to some mechanics and they are saying...fuel pressure gauge, nitrous gauge are a must. 100 octane gas would be wise as well....what resource can you or anyone supply me with to do this nitrous stuff the right way, where there is no chance of detonation or blowing up of my 3.5L baby. You say the vq35 can handle it and is begging to be squirtted, so I'm looking to do so, but want to make sure I do it right and not the ghetto, quick fix way. Car has an Injen intake and greddy catback so far for engine/exhaust mods. any suggestions or testimonials will be greatly appreciated...

Go with the NX #20923(wet). Stay away from the Venom.

SR20DEN has a dry kit on his 2K2, but he can help you on where/how to tap the fuel system. If you stay with less than 100-shot, you won't have any problems with a CORRECTLY INSTALLED AND TUNED kit.

Here are some threads you should read PLUS the N20 links in my sig:

nobody really knows if an 02 maxima will last 150k with nos because nobody probably even has that kinda mileage on their car yet.

ya, NX is safe
Sorry, thats the brand I prefer...

Why would you want to wait till 30k, do it now! ,
You should be fine, I am about to reach 10k in a little bit and you should have nothing to worry about.
THere are 4th gens running large shots of nitrous with 100K + miles on their motors.

75 shot is 75 hp.
Torque is usually a 150% of the shot
so about 120 tq is added with a 75 shot..

THe tank varies how much you use it..I think you can get about 2 mintues of a 75 shot constant, so do the math... Also, thje last 2-3 lbs left in the bottle dont actually get used becuase is cant be sucked in by the valve, I want to upgrade to a 15 lb bottle and not have to fill up as often but trunk space is VERY limited for me

He doesn't have 150k miles on the car. He has 20k. He wants to get 150k out of the motor. Slow down and read a little.

Maybe it's just me, I'm weak. It's like dope, first one or two sprays/week, soon your opening an account at AmeriGas and having G cylinders delivered to your house...
