Anyone w/the SFC's installed beside myself?
How's the '00 stock SE suspension? I'm starting out with a stock 2000 SE and plan to mod its suspension a little in a few months... thinking of SFCs, then Tokico Illuminas (whenever they come out), an FSTB, not in any particular order... I can tell you that I can't stand the soft feel of the struts on this car, I need a little quicker/firmer "reaction" during curves.
Torsional rigidity will definately increased. I could feel the difference noticeably after having the stage 2 installed. The installer modified the rods (making longer and thicker) to compensate for the fitment issue. The stage 3 even make the uni-body more solid. It would be a good setup for autocrossing but I am very happy w/the SFC's for normal driving since the rigid chassis gives great control/feedback to the driver.
I've been trying to get the SFCs for some time now and I have not been able to find many shops that are willing to install it. Just two shops and they're both saying that they can, but they'll charge $500-700 and I'm not willing to spend that much money on the installation. One of the shops was Maaco and they even talked about taking out the seats and carpeting, so that it doesn't burn during welding. I'll look around some more this weekend, but I was hoping to get these installed before I went to the track (road course) in a couple weeks. I've spoken to Dallas a couple times too and the SFC's are sitting there ready to be shipped as soon as I find a shop. If there's anyone in the Michigan area that's done this, let me know....thanks

Look into your local performance muffler shop (yellow page) or yet ask the Mustang guys to direct you to a good quality welding shop. Those guys from Maaco are crazy or a bunch of idiots!
Once you've located a good shop, ask them about their hourly labor charge. Better yet, bring the SFC's to their shop or tell them to go to Warpspeed's website so they can get an idea on how the SFC's components look like. That was what I've done and my cost for the stage 1 was about $60. This included preparation, stripping old paint and reapplying undercoating afterward (which I bought/brought w/me). Good luck!

Finally have some good news. I found a shop Autowerk Motorsports in Madison Heights, MI that's willing to install these. There estimate is pretty reasonable (less than $200) for both Stage 1 and 2. I spoke to Dallas this morning and ordered both stages. I had placed an order a week ago but had him put on hold until i found a shop that would install it. He said he will ship those today and I should have them by next week. I am scheduled to put 'em on on Friday Oct 10th, so I hope they make it before then. I go to Gingerman on Saturday the 11th, so I'm hoping to have the SFCs installed on Friday. Hoping that my plan works out. I will post a thread next week to let you know my opinions on the SFCs...
Make sure the car is supported properly!!!
Less than $200 is okay, but a little on the pricey side. I paid $160 for mine (Stage 1 only), but they originally charged me $210. (for 4 hours of labor) I watched the guy and he took his sweet time, so they knocked it down to $160.
Just to let you know, I had a lousy dirt oval race car fabricator install a very elaborate SFC system in my last Mustang (full length SFCs, jacking rails, ladder bars, all tied together) for $50. When he was done, the driver's door wouldn't close, so he opened the door, wedged a 2x4 in the hinge and tried to slam the door. Sure, the door closes now, but the body panels don't line up anymore.
Just make sure it is supported properly. They didn't use a drive-on ramp for my Maxima, but it was still supported properly. See my earlier posts for details.
Good luck,
Justin

Thanks for the info. I spoke the guy and he said they do have a four post lift in their shop. It's a performance shop that installs exhausts, turbos and superchargers. So i'm hoping they know what they're doing. He quoted me $175 for both Stage 1 and 2. Dallas said that it should not take more than 100 bucks to install both Stage 1 and 2. I don't have much choice here in Metro Detroit. I don't mind paying $175 as long as they do quality work. I'll keep you guys posted.
