2000 Auto Transmission problem? <not the usual TSB issue>

Hello,

So I am leaving work today, I drive out to the main entrance and come to a complete stop to check for cars at the stop sign. I give the car a normal amount of gas and the engine revs for 2 seconds and all the sudden the transmission catches and jerks hard (it felt like a nuetral drop from my youngin' years...). What the hell was that I'm thinking, I stopped again and it did not happen but now I am afraid to merge into city traffic!

A while back I brought my car to the dealer to have them check for the 1-2 Trans slip TSB and they said my car wasn't effected. Could todays issue be a fluke or a telltale sign? Car has only 34k miles.

thanks

It happened to me coulpe times. I slowed down before making a turn, then pushed gas pedal again, car jerked.

Not sure its the same thing though.

the best way to test slippage is find a moderate to large hill. start off at the bottom at partial throttle. the revs should climb without the car moving then it should slam forward. some peoples are worse than others but at least have them replace the tranny solenoids so you dont have to worry about reliability from here on out.

It may have been hunting for gears if between 1st and second gear. If you came to a complete stop, check for low tranny fluid.

i allow my car to idle for 30sec to a minute before i drive. before the soleniods it would slip even when warmed up. i had the solenoiods down and it would occasionally do it when it was cold. after the TCM was replaced, i have not experienced any slippage. i also use a tranny cooler and mobil 1 atf to help keep the fluid temp low.
