Other than the usual timing belt, most other belts dont really need to be replaced unless they are causing problems, such as squeeking. As far as I know, the timing belt is the only one that needs to be precisely positioned to make the car run properly. If the other belts slip or wear out a bit, they dont do any harm. For example, if the belt going from your crank to your alternator wears out a bit, it still will run at about the same rate, and wont cause any problems. I wouldnt worry about any of your belts sorry for goin on so long here

Whenever they appear to be dried out and cracking. Belts have a tendency to dry rot over a period of time. If you fail to change them, you could have one break on you while on the highway. If you have high mileage on your car, it's cheap insurance to change your belts. I recommend no longer than 70k miles before replacement.

Since we don't have timing belts, what's the cost to change the belts we
do have?

I don't know how many belts you have on your 01 Max. The best thing to do is to price shop. Check the dealer price first and compare it to aftermarket belts made by Gates,Dayco or Goodyear. You should be able to buy them for $40 or so. Serpentine belts cost more than V belts. I replaced three V belts on my 95 KingCab for $30. If you have a NAPA or Carquest store in your area, check their prices.
