P0430

I had an error code P0420 a few weeks ago. Brought it down to the dealer (after hitting autozone) to get the ECU reflashed. The SES light came on a couple days ago so I went back to autozone and got P0430 this time. Are they linked? I know 0420 is right bank and 0430 is left bank but shouldnt the reflash have taken care of this or are my 02 sensors gone. I had autozone clear the code and it has not come back on in the past 4 days.

Depending on the year of your car (I'm assuming 2002-2003 because you are still in warranty), there is a TSB out for the O2 sensors being replaced. The TSB is available on my web-site.

According to what you said, it appears that the dealer may have re-flashed the ECU, but you didn't state if they replaced the O2 sensors or not. The TSB calls for both rear sensors to be replaced.

For faster help in the future, fill out your profile with at least your vehicle's year. Click the profile button at the very top of the screen to edit your information. This will help us diagnose the problem faster, as different years have the same symptoms but different causes.

the ecu flash should have taken care of any of the problems. i doubt its an O2 or an O2 code would have been included when you pulled them. depending on your relationship with your dealer, you may want to phone him/her and let them know the other bank code is now showing. i have not heard of anyone pulling 0430 before so i would assume it has to do something with the ecu flash.
