Does anyone know if there is another tool that is backwards compatible with the consult ? There has to be another tool from Mac,Matco,Snap-On or something that is able to do this also right ?

 

Worst thing I have ever done to the car....Pinging like crazy (never before the 2 degree advance...Always 93 octane shell gas before and after) I had to run back to retard it back to 15....

Yeah went to NISSAN yesterday cause my timing is at 14 and said can they bump it to 17 and wanted 95 dollars...but hopefully my homies brother can get it done for 40...

 

I talked to a friend of mine who used to be an Infiniti tech for a while, and he did the 17 degree base timing on his 03 Max and he told me not to bother wasting my time doing it.

 

I did my to 17 a while back and noticed no improvements at all.

 

Come on man, auto VQ 30 Max is NOT faster than Se-r Spec V. When I had my 03 spec i/e and balance shaft removal I ran 14.7 which is what my auto 3.5 VQ with filter and b.o.p runs but just 1mph faster.

I know this is an old thread but I hate when people don't give props to Se-r Spec V's. Which was a decent pocket rocket especially b15.

On a side note I do have timing adv and paid $30 for it at dealer. (had friend with cipher later double check and it is at 17deg). But didn't notice any difference daily driving and haven't ran at track under same conditions to be able to see if benefit.

 

How so sure? Pound for pound sounds like a driver's race.
