The Frankencar intake was a good, simple design, and an easy DIY mod. With the Apexi filter, it rocked both in sound and performance.

However, you won't find one. Frankencar has gone the way of the dodo, and good riddance to bad customer service. With one exception, the owners were ********. I got one of their last intakes 3 years ago, and even then it was like pulling teeth. (Take my money, please!)

Call Brian Catts at Cattman Performance. He'll hook you up with a good alternative.

I think you can still get a Berk intake which is essentially the same thing. This thread is old.

I have had the Berk Intake for years, but I notice the link to his web site no longer works.

Is he gone too?

BTW, the Apexi pop-charger is supposed to be a "lifetime" filter. However, I replaced mine after 25k miles and immediately noticed the difference. Maybe 25k or so is a good cycle. I only drive about 7k a year, so it's off my radar for years to come.

The thing that's nice about the (rather expensive) Apexi is that it's dry; no oil. I've read a number of posts about people with bad MAF sensors because of heavily oiled filters, which isn't a worry with the Apexi.
