putting 02 tails in a 00

The difference is the 00s use a regular bulb, whereas the 01s and up use a wedge bulb. However, the harnesses are the same. If you remove the ENTIRE assembly (harness included) and replace it with a whole new tail light (harness included) it is 100% plug and play. Ive done it three times on other's cars and once on my own.

yea a local 02 SE with the all red 00-01 GXE/GLE tails said he had to splice wires and stuff. that's why i never did it, if it was plug and play i would have gotten the all red ones a LONG time ago

You dont, he figured that you had to because of the different bulb types. However, I currently have 00SE tails in my 03 and the 00 I swapped them with has my 03s. It took ~30 min to do the swap in total.

Got mine from an 01 and it took us 30 mins to swap... most of the time was spent dealing with the pesky sealant that was getting everywhere....

Its helpful to have a second set of hands to cut the stuff with a razor and keep it from getiing on the paint.

I wish we were smart enough to realize that we shoulda done that .... 2 grown men (actually 3, cuz Gooey was there hangin out with us) in a condo parking lot struggling with strands of sealant all over our bumpers, tools, clothes...
