belt problem

Ok so i'm pretty sure i have everything down.

Only when its raining i get this terrible belt squeel. It happens when i start to move in first, or when i down shift to 3rd or 2nd to slow down. it squeels for about 2-3 secs. its extremely annoying and i'm sick of hearing it. had the belts checked a few weeks ago and they said they appeared to be fine.

anyone have any idea why or do i just need a belt replacement?

adjust the belts. sounds like they are too tight. looking towards the engine, on the right side of the alternator belt is the adjusting bolt. i think you need a 10mm to adjust it. i did mine by starting the car and then adjusting it..good luck

yea it was my b-day weekend so i didn't have time to take a look under my hood, although i really wanted too. today me and my friend are going to take a look during my class break and possibly change them depending on what we determine. its just weird that it only happens when wet. it was wet out again last nght and on startup last night it 10 minutes for the squeeling to go away while i warmed up the car. this monring it took about 5 minutes and now its gone. its not wet anymore either.

not so much directions but a helpful hint.

i loosened the pulley bolt and turned the idle control thing a little tighter then re-tightened the pulley bolt. its kinda raining here now so i'll see if it made a difference later. thanks for the help. all else fails im going to just replace them. is it easier to just take the tire and tire well off to do this?
