12k?? WoooW!

for 12k you can get a whole new front put on from another car w/ another engine. my bro's 99 max had way more damage and they charged the insurance company $15k thats b/c it wasn't his fault. In true life, if this is your fault, and depending on your deductible, it might be worth while to fix it yourself and sell the car right after.. you'll make money. you can get all that fixed, even w/ new parts for about half that, plus if you shop ebay for some air bags and head light, grill, etc.. you might save even more.. sell it and save the insurance surcharge (if its your fault) and the headache.

replace the airbags and the seatsbelts or take the seatbelts apart and take the airbag stopper so the seatbelts work just like they did before the accident.

Well the airbags are in the process of being done, this was the last thing I was repairing on the car since it runs and drives just perfectly fine. How hard is it to remove the stopper?

How much do you guys think I could get for the car the way it is? Thanks for the input.
exactly how does one stop short on somebody else?

I hate to be the jerk of the group, but... you are supposed to drive so that if the person in front of you slammed on their brakes, you would have time to stop before rear-ending them. If it's raining, than this following distance needs to be increased. Yea yea, you learned your lesson... now your car is f'd up, you've got to pay for your car, or a new one, and you've got higher insurance premiums - but what most people don't consider is what a huge inconvenience it is for the poor shmuck that you just rear-ended. I've been rear ended 3 times recently and it SUCKS! In one of those instances, they didn't fix my Maxima right and the trunk rubs on the bumper now and rubbed all of the paint off. Now the trunk is rusting on the inside because of it and the rust/water runs down the bumper and puts brown streaks down the bumper. To make matters worse I had the work done in a different city (where I used to live), and their insurance company won't let me get it fixed anywhere else. Now I have to drive 500 miles one way, pay for gas, and somehow find the time do to this because of somebody like you. I hope you will be more careful with your next car... and to everybody else reading this... before being careless, try and think about the other person you are royally screwing over.

I hydroplaned into a jeep two weeks ago at 35 mph. The total cost to get it fixed was $4100, and it looked about like yours, then again my airbags didn't deploy. I folded my hood, smashed my front bumper, slightly bent my frame in the front, destroyed my headlamps, bent my fenders, ruined the radiator, all of the bumper reinforcements had to be replaced... my insurance loves me now. Thanks God for collision insurance.

Basically, your car is probably looking at about $6-6.5k unless it damaged the engine. But that's just from looking at the pictures, I really can't make an accurate estimate. I'm just comparing with my wreck.

Car is all done body wise, all I have to do is swap the airbags and we're ready to roll. I"ll post up pixs later this week once this damn rain clears.

OMFG!! the same thing happened to me over the weekend!!! (of this post date) and my estimate was like 5300 for just parts alone.. Im pretty lucky that the lady that caused the accident had full coverage state farm insurance (no used parts). But the bad side is i will not see my baby for another 2 weeks minimum if u want the story on my accident, its on page 2 of my cardomain
