Anything you can do to a manual, you can do to an auto (engine mods anyway)

Could I switch out the auto tranny with a manual one? How much $$ and how hard would it be. I don't wanna buy a new car.

Selling your car and putting that money and the 6 grand into an '02/03 6 speed car is your best option.

Ok here's a question for you guys. There are a majority of members here that have HID Fogs. I was wondering if any of you have experience on coming cars to flick their high beams at you at night?

Fogs are really 'low', and I do not see anyone flashing you or anyone else who has HID fogs because the beam pattern on the fogs is quite low.

Eazy...I don't understand why you bought that auto max without black interior if that is what you wanted. Only options I can think of is....

1. You got a screaming deal on the max (unlikely)
2. The max was given to you.

If neither of those are the case....well I'm sorry to say you do not make wise choices.

Either way...as was said previously your best option is to just sell your auto max and go buy the one you want. Most likely you'll get it for less than the 6 grand you have (including the value of your current max). Then you'll have money leftover for mods. Win...win.

It's going to be very hard to tell a difference between different strut bars... just get what you like to look at or is cheapest.

I posted this in a thread in the suspension forum, but I don't think it gets as much traffic by the veterans. Do you guys know if there a benefit to using the OEM end link as opposed to these: http://www.energysuspensionparts.com...=MOOG%2DK90431 ??

Yeah, I have one. Beefy construction, lighter than it looks. Definitely tightened up the steering response. Got my locally at Alamo Autosports for $59. They had it in my hands in 2 days.

Yes, if you have $6000 laying around, you should be able to use the 2000 and $3000-4000 (assuming the '00 isn't beat to death) and get as low mileage an '02/03 Maxima you can find with a 6 speed. Should be more than a full second quicker in the quartermile (several 5.5 gens with 6 speeds have run low 14s @ 96-98 mph bone stock, vs mid to high 15s at around 90 for stock automatic 5th gens). Don't ask me how I know but a stock 5th gen cannot hang with a stock 5.5 gen-must have been at a dragstrip. In fact, it was brutal.

You would be getting a newer car, with a 6 speed like you really want, 33 hp more, another half liter of displacement, more torque and a quicker car to mod.

you shouldn't with just a stock setup, but if you did Pheonolic spacers I've heard of some minor issues but it can still be done. So nothing to worry about.

Same exact mods to a 3.5 and I'd put my money on the 3.5.

Stock vs stock it isn't even close.

Agreed.

Some of the mods I'm doing can only be done to a 3.0
