I posted that to tell you what I wanted and to ask where the best places and products to look at.

Thanks for the Seafoam tip. Which vacuum line is best to suck into the IM?

Thats all the info I'm going to give you for now about the seafoam. Try searching in the fluid and lubrication section first.

brake booster line. It's the big one that comes directly from the brake booster (the big black cylinder on the driver's side firewall in the engine bay)

Lookin for a little help on the G35 sedan muffler install on my 03 SE. Can i just buy the muffler and take it to the shop and they'll weld it up? any special mods that i need do do before i install it? Also where can i get one for a decent price besides dealer. Performance expectations?

IIRC the G35 sedan muffler will not fit very well because it's bigger than our stock mufflers. One guy did it and it hung too low IMO and looked bad...

Why bother? It won't help performance AT ALL, and you won't get "that G35 sound" from it. Oh, and it's heavier than the stock muffler, and doesn't really look very nice.

Go get a Cattman muffler, which is lighter, better looking, and will give you some minor power gains because of the straight-through design.

see, it doesn't look good at all (even if the tips aren't bent)....it just looks like a bloated stock muffler

Hmmm...I don't how many people have done it, if any at all.
Why not go with something designed specifically for the Max?
I recommend Cattman (check the Group Deal section for good prices).

I went to Nissan today for a tuneup extremely expensive. And i found out i need to replace my coil packs an oxygen sensor and the cat conv. i already purchased the six packs for $260 instead of the $600 they wanted and $900 for the cat i need help with choosing a new cat that is a direct fit and maybe has a little performance gain. And exactly how many o2 sensors are there i want to say 4 but i cant remember.

how many miles do you have?

If it's under 80k (IIRC), they have to replace the cat for free under emissions warranty (federal law)

No aftermarket cats will give any performance gain (and anyone who says they will is full of ****), so just find one that is street-legal and cheap....

I believe random-tech sells them pretty cheap. Check out cattman.com also.

I needed a new cat as well because I hit a piece of metal on the highway and broke it, and I got Cattman's fastcat. It is a little more expensive than a Random Technologies cat, but Cattman's quality and service is amazing. IIRC it was around $250 or so which is much better than the dealer one! 1400 miles since the install and I'm getting no CEL like I had before.

Yeah they're available. Cattman's site isn't exactly up to date. Just give Brian a call and he'll hook you up.

Ok ill take a look into it thankyou. Did u feel a difference though ill proably just go with the random tech and for the amount of money they were going to charge me might as well through in a catback with it just for fun. Still way under $900.

Can anyone direct me to information regarding the seat memory function? It has stopped working on my 2000 I30. The seats all adjust okay, but the memory function won't.

Hey, I have some questions about car audio and with the bose system in my maxima.

Ok, so I have a 2000 Nissan Maxima GLE. I have a price range of $600-$800. I have an offer from sound advice for 2 12" MTX subs, in a ported box with installation and everything, I am going to keep the stock Bose and the stock radio and get a base **** so the base will not be distorted. A will also get a 1200 watt mtx amp. What do you guys think about that setup?

Also, just in general, the bose speakers and radio in the maxima, is it ok to leave it in? And, what are the advantages and disadvantages of ported as opposed to a sealed box? And, what do you guys think about MTX subs?

idle

I have a 2000 i30t A/T roughly 90k. I have been getting symptoms while stopped in drive, the car will idle fine for a few seconds after i stop at a light, but will begin to buck, and rpm will drop and bounce?

The car idle's at 700rpm normally while in Drive, the symptoms stop if i shift to N and hit the throttle? thanx

Hey I have another question, My two back windows, they only roll down halfway. Is there any way to tweak that so they can roll down all the way?

And, is there a way to access the trunk through the back seats

I have a 2000 Nissan Maxima GLE.

look at the shape of your rear wheel well and you will have your answer

The shape of the door prevents the window from going all the way down. The shape of the door is dictated by the fact that the wheel well is significantly forward of the back of the back seat. You might be able to tilt the window somehow to get most of it in the door but I don't think there is anyway to get it to go all the way down. I also don't think it's worth trying.

Don't you have fold down rear seats? I thought this was standard on all 2000+ Maximas.

There are various "setups" out there...stock with different pads, new rotors, different calipers, "Big Brake Kits," and so forth.

I'm assuming your friend means that your pads and rotors are worn/shot.

So:
Buy some new rotors (Brembo, or any other brand....even the "wearever" brand from Advance Auto parts will do....

Buy some new pads (Hawk HPS are highly suggested for street use)

Have someone who knows what they're doing assist you in changing them, or take them to a trustworthy shop.

I also STRONGLY SUGGEST that you go to your local auto parts story (Autozone, Pep boys, whatever) and buy the HAYNES manual for your Maxima. This gives basic instructions (with photos) on how to do most things you will need to do to maintain your maxima, including how to change brake rotors and pads.

ALSO: go to Sears and buy some quality tools. For a pads/rotors job you will need:
-1/2" drive ratchet with set of sockets (you will need a 14mm, 17mm, and 19mm at very least). Buy a full set of metric sockets. they will come in handy for all kinds of things.
-needlenose pliers
-a "C" Clamp (I suggest a large 6" clamp)
-rear brake piston compressors or "cube" (ask at Sears, they'll know)

Other than that, read the Haynes manual and they should give you a list of other tools, as well as various grease/lubricants you will need.
