nothing is worth the money. there are no "chips" that do anything for our cars. they are completely worthless.

There are only two belts that it could be, and they're both located on the passenger side of the engine. Check the belt tensioner and make sure the belt deflection on both is ok.

Sometimes sprayng belt dressing on them will fix the problem as well.

go with Cattman, it's about the only on out there that has good sound, but not ricey. Also it looks good (twin 3" outlets) and doesn't look like a fart-can like most of the rest.

Any help is appreciated!
there is no such "mod" that will do anything for you unless you are heavily modded with all bolt-ons. don't spend a cent on any "chips" or "ECUs" that claim gains on a lightly-modded VQ30...BS.

Hey Irish,
I went searching and found your pics from 2004 with ebrake boot installed. I bought one from redlinegoods. Please, give me a hint how to install that thing. Does center console needs to be removed or there any other way? Redline says that console must come off.
Thanks a mil.

collision not on CarFax

Hey guys, here's nother noob question,

is it possible for a car to have a major accident and not have it show up on CARFAX?

i was vacuuming out my fairly newly-purchased used car the other day - realized that in the back - the the footwell for the right rear passenger is convex (curves up) and the footwell for the left rear passenger is concave (curves down) - WTF?

There is no record on CarFax of any accidents - and I'd be very hard pressed to find any evidence of a collision on the car itself.

any ideas?

this on top of the oil consumption problem - wow not even a month and im already regretting my purchase.

Yes, it is. I have had 3 cars in fairly major accidents. On 2 of them, they were close to being totalled. I sold one of them very shortly after getting them back from the repair shop and there was nothing on the carfax on it. Another one went over a year after being repaired and when I traded it in, it still did not show.

Sorry I dont have any pics right now but I can tell you that they match the HIDs a lot better than the stock ones. Probably not quite as peircely bright as the PIAA super plasmas but they still look good. Kina a cool white. My stock HIDs seem to have a little purple in them, these fogs dont realy. As far as quality iv only had mine about a month so cant realy so for sure. Bulb construction is good.

yes, the console between the seats has to come off so you can get to the underside of it. It's really very simple....5 or 6 screws, a few clips and a couple wires (rear lighter and seat heater switches). takes like 5 minutes to remove..

Ok so now I have the berk/apexi intake, lowered w/eibach, good tires and rims, now I want to upgrade my exhaust. I want to do headers or Y-pipe... seems 2k2-2k3 is screwed as the good brands seem to have quit making them. I wanted to go with frankencar catback are they still around?

This problem just started tonight and I can only think it would be the catalytic converter. It sounds like there's a cooler filled with ice and water that slushes back and forth under hard acceleration or stopping. I can hear it moving back and forth and it sounds like it's coming from the underneath, middle of the car. I took a baseball bat and tried to tap on the exhaust, but I couldn't hear anything weird. Anybody got a clue?

Searched the Forums and didn't find anything on this.

Not ready to spring for HIDs, but would like to upgrade look (brighter white) and functionality of stock '00 headlights.

Any suggestions on headlight and fog light bulb replacements, or other related upgrades? Thanks!

Alternator Voltage under load???

Hi, what voltage should I get under full load and at normal idle around 700rpm?

My battery is a few months old and shows above 14 volts with engine off or with engine on at idle with no load. The voltage is holding at 13.8 with radio, lights and heater. Once I turn on the windshield defrost and the rear defog, the voltage falls to 12.2 and holds there at normal idle. It goes up to above 14 once I add some gas. Is this normal?? I thought a good alternator should hold it at above 13 volts under full load.

I had these readings on my original alternator taken today, I had the alternator switched to a rebuilt alternator, which was tested on a special machine in front of me and when it was put in I get same readings. Is this a normal reading - full load, idle, 12.2 volts?

Well Frankencar stop makeing theirs cause they did it on a limited basis but people *****ed that they took their time etc etc so they said screw this. So for catback if you want a nice look go with the cattman. For headers hotshot or cattman, i think hotshot makes theirs on a limited quality so get them if you see them. Cattman should have his available. Try contacting those guys and see

I would get OEM ones. Try DaveB or eBay (that's where I bought mine) for the best prices. They are pretty expensive.

the coils are close to $80 each from a dealer ($76 I think is the dealer price). You can get them for less on eBay or online store but need to make sure they are OEM with a grey dot on each coil indicating it's an upgraded part. I saw posts here where people were getting them for under $400 for a set of 6 from DaveB. I got mine on eBay for $45 a piece but that was obviously lucky.
