The ones that don't read here - I saw some threads about this a few months ago, so search for them and look. Also, custommaxima.com is a sponsor here, so they have their own section in the sponsor/vendor section that should prove useful.

HI guys,

I got a 2001 I30t out of Cali with 115k mi on it. My problem is from idle to about 3500-4000rpms the car runs very strong. After that though, it feels like its slipping. It doesn't seem to matter if its full throttle or if I'm just trying to pass someone. You just kick it down and right at that rpm range it just seems to rev up. The car is still accelerating, just not as fast as it should and when you let off the shift it pretty firm. Same kind of shift if you keep your foot in it as well. It never slips around town and driving habits don't seem to matter either. It's just when you get to that rpm range. No lights either but I haven't checked for codes yet. I tried searching but couldn't find a similar problem. I specifically bought a V6 Nissan product because they have (or at least seemed to have) better automatics than Hondas. Please offer some hope that it's a damn sensor or valve....Not the transmission!! Thanks for the help guys.

You can try checking your VIAS first.Sometimes they're broken.

I purchased mine from ebay. It's part number: 34101-B15S5 and it's made by Nissan Motorsports. Same part number as from here:

Service Engine Soon Help

So my SES light has been on for a few months reading codes Knock sendor high input and low, as well as cat bank 1. Over the last few weeks I noticed my mileage dropped by a good 50 miles per tank and when on the freeway, I would nail the gas pedal and could feel a big hesitation and drop in power. My mechanic is not sure which to correct to get the car back to normal, I am leaning toward the knock sensors and new plugs, 93k miles on the car a 2003 max, as here in Cali, the cats are almost $1000 a piece. I am also wondering if the MAF and fuel filter need to be replaced. Any ideas or opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Without hearing the actual noise, these possibilities come to mind:

1) Bad Starter solenoid: The electromagnet which pulls the starter drive gear into the flywheel is no longer strong enough to do its job. I do not know if the solenoid is replaceable on its own or if it is part of the starter assembly.

2) Low battery: The battery is not sending enough energy to the starter solenoid. In scenarios 1 & 2, the starter is spinning, but since the gear is not fully engaged with the flywheel, the gears clash and make the noise you hear

3) Bad connection from the battery to the starter, which has the same symptoms of #2

Requesting torque specs. 2000 SE automatic.
Hi, I have searched and unable to find these specs. I'm replacing the passenger side half shaft. Got the old one out and planning to drop in the new one tonight. Looking for specs for the following fastners: Axle nut, the 4 large bolts holding up the lower control arm. Gravy would be the specs for the caliper bracket and caliper but I know I can find these by searching brake replacement.

TIA, Rakso

Hey,

I have some issues with my Maxima. I need help from you guys please.
1. My foglights dont work anymore
2. It feels like my car is losing its response to throttle. I give it gas and it starts to accelerate at 2.5 rpm.
3. There is something strange about my stereo. When im listening to FM it works like a charm and I love it but when I play CD, the driver side speakers stops working but time to time it works for like 15 seconds.
Please help me, I dont have that much knowledge in cars but Im going to learn. Thanks.

That's the point of this thread; so noobs can ask questions before they are allowed to make a thread (15 posts).

just lowered my 02 on tokicos and vogtland springs, i had it aligned, everything was good, other than a touch of negative camber. Now the cars pulls hard to the right. Is this a common problems with 5th gens??

Not a common problem. Negative camber should not cause this unless it is uneven on either side of the front end. Sounds like you have another issue. If the car did not do this before you installed the tokicos and springs I would suspect the springs or struts are on the wrong side.

Mark, I tried that site lastnight and i did all the steps and then i put my headlights on only the right side went on with the parking lights. Is this still the same if the car has HID stock lights.

It is not a normal situation for any car. Do you have the alignment numbers (sheet)?

It sounds like the toe is off, really off.
