What is the order of a brake bleed for maximas with ABS?
Front driver, rear passenger, front passenger, rear driver?

From the FSM:
"Bleed air in the following order.
Right rear brake → Left front brake → Left rear brake → Right front brake"

Unknown front bumper

OK so this might sound incredibly vague, but I have been trying to find information on this an aftermarket front bumper that I have seen on numerous member's cars, but cannot locate anywhere else to buy. It can be seen on makavelisk's and YellowNisMaxima's rides (sorry to use names but I cannot find pics anywhere else ,) it looks sort of 2002 impreza wrx-ish with large foglight openings and a trapezoidal grille thats flipped upside down from the stock grille's orientation. There is also a bar incorporated in this bumper's grille that goes straight across the opening.

Any info on where I could buy this or at least a name I would appreciate immensely because I want one for my ride so bad!

Thanks for the info. That clarifies things, the The MLV630 designation confused me.

If you have a picture of their car, post it up.

A good starting point could be asking those two members directly, if you haven't done so.

Hi guys.
I drive an 01 Maxima AE and this weekend, I am replacing my mid cat converter with a straight pipe because it is clogged. I know its illegal but it's what I can afford right now.
My manifold catalytic converter is clogged as well. My question is, if I take the manifold catalytic converter out and remove whats inside of it and have it cleaned and put back "it will basically be just a pipe", will that damage the car? what are the advantages/disadvantages of doing that?
Car doesn't push what so ever and this will hopefully solve my problem.
If you could please PM, that would be much appreciate it as I might not be able to find this lol. I am new here
Thanks in advance guys.

How hard is it to replace the front cat? The one closest to the radiator. I'd like to do it myself to save money. My friend has ramps and pretty much any tools that I'll need.

Not difficult, just a little bit tight. Make sure you have all tools necessary for rusted nuts/bolts - helicoils, tap and die, etc. Exhaust bolts get rusty!

Without a doubt. I remember snapping a bolt off in the flange and just left it that way. I could not get a drill up in there to drill it out without taking off the whole manifold, which I was not about to do. Mine was fine missing one bolt though so I didn't worry about it.

suspension question

I have been looking at some suspension stiffening bars from Ultra Racing recently that are for the A33 Cefiro and was wondering if anyone knows for certain if the suspensions are the same on these cars and the 5th gen maximas. I am mainly interested in the front since I already have SFC's for the car.

Replacing the Nissan stereo head unit to an aftermarket?

Hi Guys,

I have got an A33 Ti model of Maixma 02. I am having a problem with my in dash 6 cd changer its dead. I am thinking of replacing the complete head unit with an aftermarket one for example a sony double din unit. Any double din unit can be installed or do we need some housing as well after removing the factory one ?

I am assuming that you have a Bose system. If I am correct, read this thread:

If you do not have a bose, look in this forum:

What sizes of tires will fit on the stock 16'' 02 GLE rims without rubbing or any other problems? I might buy a set of used tires to save a couple hundred but 215/55/16 isn't very common. I was thinking 225/50/16 or would that be bad?

Where can i get a reasonable price set of axles for my '00 SE? Also, good price shocks and struts??

I have searched here and other sites. I just want to know a good set, and where i can get them at a reasonable price.

Thanks in advance....

It would be ok. The tread is a little bit wider (225 vs 215) but nothing to be concerned about. The side wall height is a little lower (50 vs 55) which makes the overall circumference of the tire a little smaller by about 1%. That creates a slight inaccuracy in your speedometer. When your speedomer shows 60mph, you would be doing about 59.4mph.

Is there any difference in the wheel size from a 2000 Maxima SE to a 2002 Maxima SE at all? I am thinking of putting on (4) Michelin Pilot 245/45/17s. Do you think this is safe? I'm not an over aggressive driver and solely use the car for a daily commuter.
Thanks!

So I made a speaker box but the audio carpet doesn't match the rest of the carpet. Does anyone know what would be the best way to color it? Or if its even really possible.

You could dye the carpet using a spray, or find speaker box carpet that matches the OEM carpet.

You understand incorrectly.

'00-'01 == 5th
'02-'03 == 5.5, due to the cosmetic and and drivetrain differences.

If it fits and does not rub anywhere it's probably fine. Problem is you won't find out until they're mounted and you're driving around on them, and that makes returns kind of difficult.

This being said, why not just go with the regular 225-50/17s for daily driver?

what size coupler should I get to connect the 2000 max TB to the helmoltz resonator? I measured them and I got 2.75" for the TB and about 3.75" for the Resonator. Could I get away with a 4" to 3" reducer?

Hate to be an annoyance but I haven't heard back from any of the three people I PM'd, does anyone else here know?

Again I just need to know what brand it is or where I could find it, I would also be willing to buy it off someone but I don't have my 15 posts yet...

Here's what it looks like

OK so after some serious research I found out the one that I am looking for is the Stillen Big Mouth front bumper (or aero kit?), but I still cannot find it anywhere for sale, so now my only question is if anyone on here has one for sale or knows where I can find one?

You have to realize that coilovers are not going to be that cheap. They have entry level coilovers such as D2, k-sport, and megans, which all run around $800 if not more. That is the cheapest set of coilovers that are available.

I definitely recommend coilovers over and spring/strut, but there is no CHEAP way to go about it. Spend the money and get quality coilovers.

The decision between coilovers and spring/strut is COMPLETELY based on personal preference. Driving requirements, budget, and many other factors should be considered when making this decision.

I finally finished installing my new head unit (alpine cda-105, love it lol) and now i have two pretty simple questions:

1. In order to get the dash kit in that came with my head unit (crutchfield) i can't screw the top two screws in connecting my headunit and climate controls in or else the vent/dash kit both can't fit in, right now they're flush together and it looks nice (the dash kit can't be pulled out without removing the vent with a screw driver) but it is a little moveable if you push on it, is it fine to leave it like that?

2. I removed the connectors for the climate controls as well and had trouble getting them back in because they were not that long. If I remember correctly there is two white ones, a gray one, and a brown one connecting to the back? When I was driving last night i noticed that the lights behind the fan choices (like top vent only, top and floor vent, floor vent only, ect) and the lights behind the fan speed numbers do not light up, all the other lights work though. I removed my head unit today and felt around and made sure those four connectors i mentioned were in, but I havn't had time to check if it is fixed yet. Is there anything I'm missing? Like another connector or something?

Thanks!

1. Should be fine, but you should be able to use all the correct mounting points. Can you post a picture of what you mean?

2. If you have lights at all, then the harnesses are fine. The bulbs/circuit board for the HVAC controls are a little fragile - this is a known issue. Sometimes they need a firm smack to come back on, other times the bulbs inside need replacement.

It took me like 20 minutes to get it flush and looking nice so I'm not going to remove it again haha I can't take that stress anymore. I found a good picture though,

On the top of the gray metal "casing", theres two screws on the very top which screw in where the '69' and that other shape are on the center console, I didn't put those in because it wouldnt be flush with the rest of my car, the vent didn't go in 100% with them in.

Does that mean I have to beat on it to get them to work lol?

Thanks for the reply btw
