Climate Control To Automatic Climate Control Swap.

Is this possible? I have a 2000 gxe with the regular climate control which just shorted out. So I was looking at climate controls for sale and the ACC looks a helluva lot nicer. Would it be a clean swap or would I have to rewire everything?

Do not do it. Way too much work. Lots of rewiring, adding sensors, etc.

I recently bought a 2001 Nissan Maxima SE 20th Anniversary addition. I broke my rear bumper and the new one from the dealer would cost me over $700. So, I am trying to find one on junk yards... The problem here is that most of them don't know a difference between regular SE and Anniversary addition. The bumper I am looking for has a skirt... which regular SE doesn't have. If any one can tell me the exact name of that bumper or the part number I would really appreciate it. Is word "primed" something I can use?

Just FYI, "primed" means that it has a base coat applied and it's ready to receive the final color of your choice, which will be your responsibility, whether you do it yourself or you have a paint shop do the work. If a junk yard is trying to sell you one that is primed that usually means they don't have it, but can get it for you from a third party, (something you can do on your own if go to places such as Rockauto.com).

I do believe they're the same. You can also look for a 5spd from an I30. They come with VLSD, too (as well as 01 AE's).

I just did the transfer of a 2k1 MAF into my 2k2...........I slightly bent the thermistor. When i first installed it and turned the car on it could rev over 2500 rpm. I took the car out for a spin to see how it ran and in about 30 seconds its like the rev limiter was applied again..............Is it possible that i blew the MAF in that time? Also what happens if you dont put the thermistor on the 2k1 MAF???????? Anyone had this problem?

You need to do the relearn procedure I believe. It involves removing the door panel. Let me try and dig up the how-to.....if there is one.

Ok, found it. Try this:

Edit: English translation:

The first thing you need to do is find out exactly which code the car is throwing. Some auto part stores, such as Autozone, offer free scan service to pull the code. Once you have that code then come back with that information and give us more details about the symptoms your car is having. I almost dare to say that you are having problems with the Mass Air Flow sensor (MAF), but without a code is a tad difficult to diagnose.

5.5 timing cover seal

I have had a persistant oil leak. I took it into my mechaninc (I could not find it) and after a day of searching, he said it is coming from the timing cover. Both the compressor and power steering pump are covered in oil residue. Anyways, should I pay the $1500 to have gasket and water pump replaced, or do it myself. My dad seems to think we can do it, but looking at the chilton I'm shaking my head no. thanks for your info! oh yeah it is a 2002, with a 6spd. 3.5; 85k miles

Im even surprised you can get them through the dealer, last I heard they were discontinued. Anyway, i've been on same path you have and to be honest I found the skirts are made of "unobtainium". Knowing the part number won't help as the salvage yards dont track by that your gonna have to look on sites like this in classifieds section or ebay. They are truly RARE in salvage yards. Good Luck

I think the main and more important difference is the engine size; 3.0 vs 3.5. There are other differences, such as HID headlights on the 5.5's, and the list goes on....

hey, im new to the website and had a couple questions. I currently have a 4th gen. maxima (auto), and i recently bought a 2000 maxima (manual). The 2000 has 175,000 miles, i bought it for about $1300 (its an SE). It has been lowered and has the aniversary bumpers in the front and back, with halo headlights. Now for the questions, when i was driving on my street (a lot of potholes) it makes a small clicking noises from the front right strut. On my 4th gen this happend and i changed the strut, and the mounts. Is it going to cost a whole lot more to do the same on the 00" max since its lowered? also would just changing the strut mount fix the problem. I will put the the website link later on where i bought the 00" maxima, if anyone wants to see it. thanks again! (was $1300 good for the car, it needs paint touch ups, but the engine and tranny seem fine)

Was it Worth it? 5th Gen

I have a 1997 max. Gle for 3 years but i came across this one, and i couldent let it go:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWAX%3AIT

Let me know what you guys think? Was it worth it for $1300, and is it a lot more expensive to change the struts on a lowered car? i might just change the mounts... but let me know

So, my 02 GLE just threw a P0021 code for the 4th time. Before this I tried just cleaning the grounds for the connection (still threw a code), and replacing the front cam angle sensor. So even after changing the sensor I'm getting the P0021 code. Any ideas what else could be causing this?

I am trying to "refresh" my cars condition, at this time, it all started out rather small but has become a much bigger job.

First I need to fix my window situation, both the front windows struggle to go up and down, but mostly down. The problem does not really occur during the day, well I take that back, they move rather slow during the day, and really struggle and can get stuck at night. I assume its something to do with the molding? and not the motor that needs replaced, but not sure on that one.

The right side passenger speaker usually doesn't have sound out of it, but every once in awhile I get the gift of having it work, sounds like a wiring issue to me, not sure where to go from there.

Moonroof/sunroof whatever its called, I have forgotten the difference between the two no longer has the ability for me to press the button and it open, I have to press it let it go press it let it go and so on to get it all the way open or shut, as well as the fact that both switches seem to now both do the same action as in they both slide it back and open it just as a vent not sure if that's how it came but I don't remember it doing that before. (There was a time earlier this year where I had the sunroof open and it rained a bit before I could close it, so I suppose water messed something up there)

STARTER RE-GREASED...NOW CAR WON'T START!!! HELP PLEASE

OK Team...

So I decided to Re-Grease my starter as I was sick of the stupid sound...
After putting her back in, it worked, I ran it around the block...everything was great, but i heard a buzzing sound in the engine bay (near the fans) so I disconnected the battery n left it for a bit.
Long Story short - Didn't start after, got it tested at AutoZone, wasn't firing the piston, so i fixed it (solenoid was misplaced). Fixed the starter, got it tester again, Works great but stupid me Broke the damn Loop off the housing of the starter that the 17mm bolt attaches into.
Bought a new housing AND a new starter ($110, couldn't say no)!!
NOW my damn car STILL won't start...both starter were bench tested and passed...car turns over, but WILL NOT START!!!
It's been parked since Monday and I would love to stop taking the bus!!!
Any Help would be great!! I am really optomistic that someone here has experienced this or at least can guess whats going on....
Cheers

Voltage Output Issues

Fellas,

I have been having issues with my 2001 Nissan Maxima. I was driving home one night on the thruway when my max started sputering and eventually died. I waited an hour on the side of the highway and it started again then drove a Mile and it died again. I was thinking alternator, but the next day i started it and checked the voltage output and it was about 14.3v. I had it checked anyway. I was told my battery had a short in it and the alternator couldnt be checked. So i replaced the battery and the car passed the charging system test. Now its been a few days and ive been checking my voltage constantly. I am getting 12v sometimes while driving and then sometimes ill get 14v and brighter lights. Its on and off... on and off... between 12v and 14 volts, its like the alternator kicks on and off. Any idea what is going on here?

Thank You
Josh
