Thanks for the advice everyone! I bought my first Maxima today for $4150. Well below the blue book and runs perfect. I can't wait to add mods to it.

I thought it was the MAF but replaced it and still have the problem!! . So far I have had the TB cleaned as well as the IACV, and now the MAF replaced. It still stalls. I also got the P0505 code meaning the idle control system. Also the SES, Fuel light and battery light are on when it stalls. Battery is only 3 months old. Please help I am running out of ideas short of getting a new IACV and/or taking it to nissan.
ALso I forgot to add that I only had the battery disconnected for 2hrs while I was installing new MAF. Would having it dissconnected for 24hrs help.
Here's a thought. I replaced my MAF last week on my 2001 and in my case it solved my stalling problem. While trying to figure out what the problem was I came across consumer reports which gave the Maxima a bad review for 3 items: The MAF, the ignition coils, and the idle control motor. For me I started with the MAF, as you did. Perhaps look into the idle control motor problems that others have had. I'm no expert but just thought I'd throw an idea out there. good luck

Hey guys, dont know too much about coilovers...I have some DUMB questions...What is missing from this picture of these coilovers?

1. The tophat on the rear two...
2. The adjustable dampening ***** missing on the rear two...

Is that it? Would I have to buy anything else for these if I were to purchase them? Are the parts I'm missing readily available for purchase SEPARATELY? Thanks for any help on this issue.

lol...not at all...I posed another question apart from my initial one. If you notice in the picture, the ***** are missing on the rears. Is that possible? Could the plastic portion be gone and only the metal adjustable portion (underneath the plastic parts) remains to be adjusted?

I called a local dealer and asked them possible scenarios for why the black plastic piece on the back struts would be missing. They said they've never ever heard of a issue where the entire dampening adjustment **** was gone (including the metal part underneath it?) because it actually goes down INTO the strut for adjustment. At the time i called, I didn't ask if its possible for the black adjustment **** to just pop off and leave the swiveling metal lever underneath it. Thats why I'm confused.

ALSO..if ANYONE can get me a pic of the rears *CLOSEUP* of the **** and tell me if that **** really does come off...I would REALLY appreciate it! AND it would definitely clear up all my confusions

Hey everyone, I was looking for new headlights for my 2000 Maxima. It is black so I figured that black halo headlights would look good on them. I was wondering if the ones they sell on Ebay work good? What have been your experiences with purchasing those?

From what I've read, the Ebay lights have a poor light output. You're better off buying OEM HID's either used or new ($$$$). You won't be happy with the ebays.

Thanks for the info about the headlights. Do you know about engine covers like the one below. This is off a 2003 Maxi, not sure if it fits on a 2000 SE.

The 5.5 gen covers don't fit. The AE (Anniversary Edition) cover is the best looking one for your car IMO.

Once again......people switch to the 02-03 HID lights. They have great output and worth every penny. Unless you plan to retrofit the e-bay projector lights with different projectors, they are trash.
