Twister Air Intake

After looking around for a intake I have decided to buy the Green Filter Twister intake based on my resources (money and how I can buy it) that I have. I was either going to get this one or the Injen but because the word is that there is no cold air intake then the Injen sounds like a waste of money. Any objections? i.e. should I not buy it? Please any input would be good. I will probably buy it this weekend or later next week.

*just joined - saying hi

Just wanted to say how well put together and already helpful this site was. I recently bought an '03 SE last summer and feel like I've done so much work to it just by reading these threads. I didnt want to sell my '03 Suzuki GSXR750 or my '92 VW GTi but I found a car that handles well and has a little power. I'm not big into modding but this forum is great for helping me look out for things in the future.

Are the dots on the coil packs whole or are they donuts? I couldn't tell by looking at some pics on the coil threads. I'm just ready to turn over 30,000 miles (could happen this week)!! Is there anything besides factory suggested maintenance that I should do to stay trouble free?

Headlights, but the best write-up I've seen, and the process should be the same anyways: http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....79#post4528379

ac fan not blowing

Hello new here. Searched and searched previous threads and still didn't find my answer. 2000 GLE ac blower will not blow. Checked fuse, replaced blower (200.00-stealer) new one doesn't blow. What other parts would be the problem? While changing blower I saw a brown relay, and blower resister (metal blade iserted in air duct) would these be the culprit? Getting hot in Louisiana. Thanks

New here. I have an 03 Maxima and a 2006 SPec V. I spend 99% of my time on Vboard and MyspecV but I have a Maxima issue.

I am 99% sure I need to replace the rear wheel bearings on my Max. Whats involved?? My mechanic says its a dealer only item and its sold as the entire hub assembly?? Is this true?? I generally do all my own maintenance but I dont want to get in over my head.

Any help??? TIA

PS. I cant seem to be able to search, Again, Thanks in advance.

AWESOME, Thank you. Helped me a ton.

I'll give it a try myself but the big nut that has to be 150ft/lbs scares me a bit. That might be my only stumbling block.

edit.. just checked, my torque wrench goes up to... 150lbs. I guess I'm good to go.

2K2/3 Zenons on a 2k0

I was wondering if I could install Nissan OEM 2002/3 Zenons in my 2000 Max GLE? I don't see well at night now and plan to pass this car to my 14 year old son, so I don't mind the investment. The threads I found have been shut down. If this upgrade can be done, I would appreciate an active link to some updated installation instructions. Thanks in advance!

you need three (well, four) things:
1. The OEM housings/ballasts/bulbs (buy from Nissan or here)
2. 02-03 wiring harness (from DaveB or any dealer)
3. the 02-03 bottom clip (from DaveB is easiest).
4. Once you buy them, post a photo or other proof of purchase on here, and someone will PM you the how-to.

There are major theft problems with the HIDs in certain areas, so the conversion how-tos were removed because it's a touchy subject. Some folks have had theirs stolen 2-3 times!

I just bought a 2000 black SE, and I want to do some mods, so my question is what mods did most of you do first and what kinds of results did you get. also, if you could point me in a good direction to get started doing some of these mods it would be much appreciated. thanks.

Not so much a question, more of a how to do...
I wanted to change the fogs on my 2k2 yellow, so started looking for lexus yellow capsules, yellow fogs off ebay, etc...
what I actually found was much simpler and cost effective...Go to your local craft store and purchase a yellow spray can for stained glass for about 5 bucks, remove your fogs, spray 3 or four coats of the stained glass paint and like magic, you now have yellow fogs that not only look really good, they're bright as hell

A/C Head Unit?

I am new to posting but I have been a member for a while now...anyway I was hoping I could get some help...

My A/C doesn't work and the dealer told me it was the head unit ($500) My blower fan stays on HIGH the entire time my car is on and the head unit lights turn on and off and responds to pushing the buttons but doesnt turn the fan down or cool. Have any of you had this problem and what did you do?

BTW its a 2001 with Digital Climate Control.

Question about some things I should look for in this Generation of Maxima's. I've got a few cars lined up that I'm going to go look at within the next few days and I'm wondering what I should pay the closest attention to in terms of warning signs for this particular car. I'm going to go look at this car tomorrow:

2001 Nissan Maxima Special Edition - 100k, $8000

Sounds a little too good but I'll check back here before I leave out.
Any help is appreciated

hey i checked the forum and i couldnt find ne thing about rewiring corner lights to blink with the blinkers. Someone a while back said it was possible, but how would i go about doing this. Is there ne way to do this without splicing the wires, or does this have to be done. also, will i need any new relays or load equalizers? thanks

Hood rattling and noise coming from strut when I go over holes, etc. I need some help. I recently put a Stillen sway bar on my car (everything was fine). With my stock 16" wheels and new Toyo tires. My friend sold me his 05 maxima 18" wheels and I put on. They are bigger tires then are recommended 245 45 18. Anyway, they fit, but now sometimes the left side of the hood rattles when I go over bump and a noise sometimes comes from strut area. Is it that I need to redo my sway bar and the re-tighten bolts or is it that my tires are heavier and pushing the strut to hard or am I paranoid and it it fine. Thanks in advance and if anyone needs 2000 Maixma 16" stock rims with almost brand new Toyo tires I am selling them for a good price.

you basically have to splice the side markers to a blinker wire.
you run a piece of wire from the blinker wire to the side marker wire.

headlights off...blinker and side marker blink together
headlights on ...blinker and side marker alternate blinks

BLEHMCO BBK brackets

Does anyone know if the brackets on Matts BBK's are the same? I mean can I use the brackets with my stock calipers until I get the Z32 calipers then just swap them?

sooner, does this mean that when the headlights are on the side markers will stay off until i use a turn signal? if so, is it considered illegal? also, would the current be too weak to power both and possibly dim them?

Try contacting Matt directly, via PM or email. He's very prompt and informative. After all, he made/designed these kits, so he would be the SME & the PIC.

they may be unrelated problems as well....for hood rattle, get some good grease and apply it to the latch and mechanism where the hood latches shut. This should get rid of hood rattle. Also adjust the little rubber bumpers on the front frame of the engine bay. You can screw them out to make them sit up and hold the hood more tightly.

Noob

I am a recent owner of a 2002 Maxima 6spd. I love it so far. I had a 2003 Mazdaspeed Protege with factory turbo etc... and my maxima will run circles around my old car! Anyways I have been looking on this site for the past couple of months and spent a couple hours tonight and realized about the 15-20 post before you can start a new post etc... My question is: I have my Max lowered with H tech springs and I am very close to purchasing a set of Altima Se-r wheels for a great price with the factory tires. Will I have any issues or rubbing etc with these new wheels? I love my max and I hope to have it for a very long time! Thanks in advance

Does anyone have pics or suggestions for replacing the parking light bulb to better match the headlights. To me it just looks rediculous the way it is now but I'm not looking to make it illegal. Maybe just a hyper white LED??? I've looked on autoillumination but some of those bulbs look rediculous. I wanted to see an example if possible.
