haha, no. The injectors dont fire before you try cranking the engine. You also have drive-by-wire, which is an electronic throttle, so the butterfly valve on the throttle body doesn't even move when the car is off....

No, not for your car. Sorry for the confusion. You need to go and get the codes pulled at autozone. If you do the pedal procedure, your light will only turn off and it will not give you the codes like it does for the 00-01 maximas.

yup it's free. Just tell them you have an SES light on and you need to have the code pulled. They'll ask you what car you have and take their machine out there and pull the code for free.

no. with electronic fuel injection systems, nothing happens with regard to the fuel when the engine is off. "Flooding" the engine is only on carbureted cars.

anything can work with enough money, expertise, and creativity.

but short answer: NO.

Why would you want the 2002 cluster anyways?

a random question, on previous cars there was a way to switch the ODO and temp to Farenheit from Celcius and vice versa. Is there a way to do this on an 03' Max SE with the auto temp system?

thanks

. i am getting a 02 5speed cluster.
02 5speeds don't exist in the Maxima realm.

adding upto my cars mileage. So i thought of swaping the orignal cluster with some second hand.
So, you're swapping because why?

:s yeah i meant 02 6 speed cluster. I have a 5 speed so the cluster doesn't have the auto tranny lights.

i am swapping inorder to stop mileage on my carz orignal odo.

It's stored in the ECU, so swapping wont do anything.

#1: It is illegal to swap clusters without having the mileage reset to what the old one had. Are you trying to scam here? So when you go to sell your 150,000 mile maxima but the cluster says 75,000 miles....that is called a scam.

#2: I really, really want to see the cluster out of the 02 5-speed, lol.

first of all i am not planning to sell my car. Its just that i am too much attached to my car and can't see it aging so fast.

So if u reset the ECU. it won't reset the mileage.

no, but you could make the pedal stalk longer, that would increase the leverage and reduce the effort. That would also put it closer to the floor though.

Climate control bulbs-$40
Price for dealership to change them -$60
Doing it myself and finding out its the wrong bulbs......priceless!!!
So after I rip open my center console to change the bulbs for the climate control, I find out the dealer gave me the wrong dam bulbs....You would think they would know which ones to order. To add insult to injury they must think a female has no clue of what their doing.

Wow, $40 for those bulbs?? Jesus, return those things. I'm pretty sure you can find the right ones online. And GG for $60 install for something they probably have no clue how to do.

Tell us the brand or maybe post a picture to help out. I'm not sure of any place that sells center caps exclusively but the size would help.

OK questions:

1. Is it okay to use two different rotors with 2 different sets of pads.

Front: Powerslot with HPS
Rear: Brembo Blanks with PBR/Axxis Deluxe

2. Is this the right part number for front HPS pads? #HFHB268F665 for a maxima manufature date: 09/00. And is this the right number for rear PHS pads (just incase) #HFHB378F626??

Thanks!

1. Yes that'd be perfectly fine.

2. Well you had the right P/N for the front hawks (HB268.665) but the rears are HB421.622. The 626 part number you gave are for maximas from 10/2000-2003. If you're sure about the build date, you have different rear calipers than the rest of the 5th gens, which means you need to get the pads I listed above. If you want to get PBR deluxe, the p/n is D 712 R for the rears.

Thanks man...I really appreciate it. (this will be remembered)

Doing some research I found this: PBR vs. HPS http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....58751&t=422559

and also I posted this in the PBR GD: http://forums.maxima.org/showpost.ph...&postcount=400

I was just a bit skeptic and decided to go with the HPS fronts (as you can see why from the link above)...so my Only question now is:

Personal experience wise..anyone have any say on PBR/Axxis Deluxe pads on Brembo Blanks?

I got PBR metal masters and they kind of seem like a cheap pad. They don't fade or anything, but after only a year and maybe 14k miles, my brakes are squeaking and vibrating (uneven pad material buildup). I would just get the hawks all around so that you do it right the first time. I wish I had.

damn...really? What about the ultimates for the rears? $130 for the pads all around is like a crazy price for me...

Hi everyone. I just bought a 2002 Maxima SE with 118k miles on it for $7700. It's a one owner and she has kept up the maintenance pretty well from what I can tell from talking with her and the available receipts.

I'm curious as to what I should have done immediately as preventative maintenance on a car with this many miles and what to expect from it. I'd like to drive it into the ground since I paid cash for it and won't have a car payment.

I'm hoping I didn't overpay, but that's yet to be determined based on how much I have to put into it I'm guessing.

I've been searching/browsing through the forums for 2002 SE posts but it's a bit hard to filter them at times. It seems some people think its solid and it's nickel and diming others to death....

I also noticed my car has a seal broken on passenger side real tail light. I'm guessing I need the whole assembly?? Where can I find a tail light for it for a reasonable price?

Thanks for any information.
