The IACV (idle air control valve) basically modulates the TB to allow air into the engine when you let off the gas (so it doesn't just die). I've always heard about the IACV problem on manual trannys, though, not autos.

If it is an IACV problem, it should be doing it when your A/C is off as well, since the ECU already compensates when the AC is turned on. If you're under warranty, have it checked out. If not, go to Autozone and have them check for any warning codes stored in the computer that might not be triggering an SES light.

I'm the first to say "my bad" when I am proven wrong by someone. In this case dealing with 255 tires on a 7" wide rim, though, I am not wrong, no matter how you look at it. You disagree?

A lot of cars have trouble with just the AC on. The beauty of the VQ30 is that you can just bump the idle up a little as you please. Let me try to find a picture of the IACV real quick.

I'd like to add that if the engine shvers and I accelerate, it continues shivering until about 2 -3k RPM. Everything then goes back to normal! but it still comes back in a while

if this is happening during acceleration, that is probably not an IACV problem, since the IACV is only doing anything when you're off the gas. Now it is sounding more like you are misfiring and/or have a bad coil. Are your coilpacks updated units (with the gray dot on them)?

visually, the difference is that there will be a little gray dot painted on the top of each coil.

internally, the gray dot coils were the "updated" ones that Nissan replaced under warranty (or in TSB?) for those who bought their cars new. I don't know what the specific changes inside them are, but they are (supposedly) more reliable.

to check, you'll obviously need to take off the engine cover

Ok, then that sounds like something different. Is it just running rough, or what kind of vibration are you experiencing? It could be the motor mounts. With the engine running, rev it up via the throttle cable in the engine bay (attached to the throttle body). See how much movement the engine makes when you do this.

Have you kept up on your maintenence? Air filter clean? Spark plugs relatively new? Clean injectors?
Here's a picture of where the IACV is located anyway:

sparks are new, clean air filter, and i use STP injector cleaner on every oil change. not a tune up matter!

I never said I was 'Mr. Nice Guy'. And I definitely don't want a bunch of people wasting posts just to agree with something I said. I find it aggrivating as hell..

Nowhere did I say you weren't helpful. In fact, I even stated that you made a post that addressed this issue properly and maturely. What I'm getting at is that all I see now days are people getting flamed left and right. Yes, some people deserve it. But the vast majority don't. You aren't quite as bad as Jason in this aspect (and he knows it ) but like I said before, some of the things you and him said were uncalled for. I just don't understand why ya'll get so pissed off when someone tries to explain themselves. I didn't see any argument or harsh words coming from him, so why should they have to come from you? Imagine if a school teacher were to say "you're stupid" because a child didn't understand something he was being taught. That's kind of what ya'll were doing.

/argument, yes?

Try the motor mount thing I told you about. And try describing the vibration a bit more. At first it sounded as if it were just an idle issue. Now it's escalated into a higher RPM vibration as well. Is it pretty harsh? Is it just noticable through the steering wheel? Is it constant or intermittant, etc.

i dont think it's a mount issue as it come and goes. it's quite noticable that passengers can feel it. quite constant too

You know, you might just have a misfire. Do you have a multimeter so that you can test your coils? That's a good way to not have to replace all of your coils at the same time. If not, take it into a shop and have them tested.

Basically:
1.. take apart center console to get climate control out
2. pop open climate control by undoing screws and tabs on the sides
3. find circuit board
4. twist bad bulb to remove
5. twist in new bulb.

Be VERY careful....it is quite easy to break stuff in there....

Ok guys I have a weird question. This evening I was revving my engine while it was in neutral to hear my intake. Of course it sounded great like it always does. Then I did it again like within a minute of the previous time and it honestly sounded like a stock intake. No growl on Whoosh sound. Then a little later it sounded normal again. Again this was all in either neutral or park. I'll pry get flamed for this but i figured that id post it anyway cause i thot it was so strange. Why would it do this??

Battery Cables?

Where is the best place to buy replacements for these? Are there aftermarket ones that are better or should I contact Dave B for OEM replacements? Thanks.

I have called Berk Technology 3 times with no response. Is this really where I want to get my intake from? Any suggestions on how to get ahold of someone? Do I PM Brian?

I think Irish and LA02 have been most helpful to Newb's.

I certainly appreciate all of you folks who are here to help.

I've been trying to get a hold of him for the past 5 weeks, and he was pretty good at getting back to me initially, but has since stopped communicating with me at all.

Get a JWT/Stillen, or, go custom.
