I really do not know as of yet I was just wondering cus I had seen some people with the big red caliper that says nissan so that is part of a bbk?

Here is what I am thinking of going with so far. the Brembo drilled slotted with the Pbr pads...so would the stock caliper be okay to still use or should I also get new calipers?

Why drilled and slotted rotors? You plan on racing at a track? If none of these, just get Brembo blanks.

Lots of things. There’s a TSB for the VB as well as solenoids. Check the stickys, and yes, that link (TSB) works because I checked last week.

wrx turbo inside maxima?

if i was to put a wrx turbo into my maxims, what would i possibly have to go through? my friend's getting a bigger turbo for his wrx and he's going to probably trash the old one so i just wanted to know if i can fit it in or not.

no thoughts on the springs?

Ok probably been discussed multiple times before, tried searching for related words per Sticky's, but unsuccessful.
I jus purchased a 00 max in july, started to noticed ticking/clicking noise from engine during throttle less than a month ago. Took to Nissan today, they checked it out and said its the coils are bad, not enough spark causing knock.
Anyone else come across this?
Thanks for any help!

New Question(s):

1) In many of the potentially helpful stickys, the links are either dead or lead to the wrong threads. I guess this is more a statement than a question.

2) About a year ago, I was considering buying a RSB. I searched and found a GREAT thread here that went through a very detailed how-to with pictures at each step along the way. I didnt end up doing the mod, and now that I am considering it seriously again.... i cant find it anywhere! And yes, I searched my heart out.

This time around, I want to get the Cattman combination FSTB and RSB. I'd like to find a good how-to thread for each, if they exist. At least one of them existed at one point, but I'm worried that it has been lost in an old thread graveyard.

Ideas?

Just found out the pipe connecting my muffler to the rest of the exhaust is broken at the flange. Apparently it's a failing common to the model (got an '03 with an '02 exhaust system), and the mechanic quoted me more than I want to pay to replace it. Do I have to replace the whole muffler or will welding fix it? Also, if I have to replace it, what muffler options are there besides Nissan OEM? Keep in mind that I don't want a muffler that sounds like an exhaust leak (ie. no bling, please!).

there should only be surface damage....thats the great thing about plastic, u can sand it down, remove the top layer and repolish it. try using 2000 grit sand paper and thoroughly sand the down the headlights. then using a plastic polisher like Meguire's plasticX (available at wal-mart for like 7 bucks, or autozone), buff off the scratches the sandpaper created. its alot better to use an electric buffer, but if you dont have one, then make sure you buff really hard, use lots of elbow grease on it and that should do the trick.

Well, I didn't have any luck in the I35 Newbie thread so I thought I'd try here.

I've seen that it's possible to rewire the fogs to work with the parking lights. Is it possible to do the same with the day time running lights on a Canadian car?

Thanks!

Has anyone found a way to rewire the fog lights to allow for operation at any time (ie. Headlights off)? As well can they be tied into the ignition so that there is no way to accidentally leave them on and drain the battery?

Thanks!

Just a few post above yours! Fogs can come on with parking lamps.

My front passenger side axle nut came loose and now the threads are stripped. The nut wont budge and if i drive it the wheel might fall off. I even broke a ratchet trying to get the nut to move. Any suggestions?

Aren't these reverse threaded? I can't remember.

If it is truelly stripped, you probably have to take a datco with a cutting wheel and cut the nut off.

Not reverse thread, i backed the nut off a little to put some lock tight on and now the nut wont budge. Im assuming it got stripped somehow. Or its cross threaded.

i would say just get down and look under there....locate the vents and just stare at them, touch them, feel them, wiggle them around... look at how they are mounted.. can they come off? can u some how remove them and replace them in a different manner? you have to get a little resourceful and creative sometimes....

Have the air come out the dash vents instead of the floor.

2001 maxima

car started running rough and tends to stall at lights and lacks power often. service engine light is lit intermittantly. checked the code and it displays "0171". this lists several items. if anyone has had a similar problem, could you please suggest a good starting point so i dont have to reinvent the wheel? thanks
