If you get this excited about carpet I can only imagine what might happen if you got a supercharger.

If you feel the need to nit-pick a very unique modification to a 5th gen I can only imagine what might happen if you started trolling other threads.

You make it quite hard to stick up for you when you put your foot in your mouth like this.

What's so unique about new carpet in a car? It's black. Doesnt even look good. My I30 has black carpet. whoop dee doo. Hell it even has a black interior. Talk about unique.

I just thought it was retarded to put new carpet over old- and then have a 4 day erection about it. Maybe you two can finish each other off and we can move on to something important.

:

You want something unique- change your headliner fabric to fabric scenes from the Speed Racer Cartoon

So any car in which a conversion of an existing model is made to mimic another, no credit is to be given?

SO, by virtue of your argument, that would mean that a 4th gen that had a 3.5 swap performed could easily be pissed all over by the likes of yourself because someone elses car comes with the same STOCK.

Hrmm. Moving along...

The man worked hard on this. It's ALOT of work to change the carpet as many items need to be removed. You've done nothing than troll this thread with your worthless drivel.

Nice ninja edit. Judging by the threads you have started I believe it would be safe to say perhaps you should invest your time into fixing the near infinite amount of problems you seem to be having with your ride.

Thanks for stalking me. So you're saying laying autozone carpet over stock carpet is tantamount to an engine swap?

My car has problems. As do you and your friend. Only my car can be fixed. You will still be retarded

If you weren't so stupid you'd know why that was done. But you dont even have the knowledge of a 5th grade school girl.

Also metal maxima's knowledge exceeds all the knowledge you will obtain over your entire life time.

No, actually I think both deserve respect in their own right. Those were YOUR words.

LOL. Can't say I've had ANY issues with my car mechanically.

...enough. There is not point in continuing this pissing contest. You are tired of seeing this thread bumped to the top, some threads will do that. I can recall someone whom did a 'Cold Weather Car Wash' and it was on top of the friggin pile for over a week. But I did not say anything. No sense in turning this into a flamefest.

amimaxima comes on here showing us what he did with his carpet. I think it's a cool thing for anyone wanting to do the same thing.

If you can find a spray gun that works with a gravity gun.
There's no such thing as "headliner glue" at least not the eleventybillion times I've gone to HD.

Why not just use spray glue?

I don't know if this has already been asked, but the money you spent on doing this install...couldn't you have spent about the same or less to have your carpet professionally cleaned?

It wasn't the fact that my stock carpet was dirty. Im in the process of completely redoing the interior of my car, and the first step was to change the carpet to black.

Also its not cost affective to buy 3M spray glue in cans. Its 12-18 dollars a can and you will need about 4 cans.

I used 3M headliner adhesive it was $5.90 a qt and $19.90 a gallon

If you cant find the 3M headliner adhesive then you can go to walmart and get DAP contact cement. It's $6 a qt about the same price as the 3M headliner adhesive.

Also if you are going to use either 3M headliner adhesive or DAP contact cement you can use any automotive paint spray gun. Bottom feed or gravity feed it doesn't matter.

yes the 3M contact cement will work. What you need to do when you are doing the carpet is spray a coat on the stock carpet and then spray a thin coat on the backside of the black carpet. like the thin coat on the back of the black carpet tack up and then spray on another coat a little thicker than the first coat. and then allow 5-6 minutes for all the glue to tack up and then apply. (the reason you are going to spray on a thin coat on the back of the black carpet and then a 2nd thicker coat is to prevent the glue from going thru the black carpet the first thin coat will act as a block so the 2nd thicker coat cant go thru.)

The swap is looking very good, but would this be a better option than glueing new carpet over the old?

I think it was well worth 50 dollars to do it myself vs. paying $135 for pre molded carpet
