whats the diffrence between SE, GXE & GLE except the leather seats, boss system in GLE, and 17" wheels on SE, what does GXE signifies....and which one is better to go for? so far i believe the SE is on top of the line?

1. Depends on which year your are referring to.
2. Which is better depends on what you want:

if you're going to heavily mod everything, just buy a bare-bones GXE.
if you want to run full-stock, buy a loaded SE or GLE...

SE is "sport edition" with stiffer suspension
GLE is more "luxury edition" with softer ride

they are both top of the line. My SE has basically every option available for the GLE also.

gle guarantees you leather, SE does not but it is an option. SE guarantees you a spoiler and sportier rims, the GLE does not. Spoiler for the gle is an option. Rims on both are different. Irish pretty much sumed it up for you

I'd have to agree with Irish. It all depends on what the future holds for your Max.

I personally like the stiffness in the SE. For me it seems like it reacts to turning alot faster but maybe its just me.

An SE does handle better, but it still sucks in the corners...

Try to find an AE edition. It's a loaded SE with some upgraded looks. Has the luxury of the GLE, but the sportier ride of the SE.. best of both worlds! The AE is only for 2001 though.

umm so the SE is in demand? thats good to hear!
does SE comes with leather seats and bose stereo....i doubt so, the only advantage in SE is 17" wheels everything else is just basic comparing to camry or accord. my next choice would be V6 camry if i ever could afford...it's been upgraded with more horsepower and tempting body style than max or altima. who said toyota cant beat nissan?

As far as I know, it was an option for SE, either the car you bought new with the option already installed (read the slip came with a new car) or your car's previous owner had bought the option.

The options for SE and GLE are basically interchangeable except if you have a manual, which is only SE and GXE models, you cant get traction control, only in 00-01 i believe. I think theres people with 6-speeds and TC.

I have an SE with leather, bose, 17's, moon roof, digital climate, heated seats/mirrors(meridian package) and ABS but no TC and no heated wheel, which didnt come until 02 i think. 2002-03 you can also get dimming/compass mirror, trip computer(which a lot of guys think is worthless) and memory seats.

If your going to mod, get a base 3.0 GXE 5 speed. Their light, and youll save money to use for mods. If you want options and some nice style and power right out of the box get an 01 AE or a 2003 Titanium Edition, if you can find one.
