starter for 2000

hi guys, I have a 2000 Maxima with bad starter.

Just went through my garage and found a brand new starter for 96 Maxima. (I used to own a 96 Max)

Just wondering if they will be a direct swap? are they the same? thanks.

Not positive, but I do not think it is a direct swap. Only one way to find out....pull out your current starter and compare. If they aren't the same then buy a new one.

Or you can buy a new one as a just in case and then when pulling out the old one compare them. That way you don't have to make a trip with your car down.

2000 part # 17734
1996 part # 17232

My guess is probably not.
