Ok stupid question...
For the guys who have modified their Intake Manifolds, would we see extra gains with the spacers too (if the spacers gain any extra power at all)? I have yet to modify my IM (eventhough I have the write-up) and I am waiting for the spacers to be finish, so I can get a good tune with my SAFC II with the TS ECU.
Or should I just go ahead and modify the manifold and get dyno-tuned.

It's not really the lengthened intake plenum spacer that gives the power. That helps. But it's the cooler intake manifold temps that really makes a nice difference. The intake manifold temps can be decreased by as much as 60 degrees. Average temp decreases are usually 40 degrees for other cars.

But this is going to be an AWESOME kit! Two Lower IM spacers, Upper IM spacer, Upper IM collector spacer, and a Throttle Body spacer. It's not set in stone right now, but that's where it's going right now.
I don't want to talk too much b/c I want to have this kit developed and tested before stating facts. Right now, it's all 'here say' since I'm in the beginning of the design process.
But this kit WILL get made!

man i am interested in seeing the temperature change. i just changed my plugs last night and after driving 10 minutes and letting my car sit for 2 hours at 50 degrees my IM was Still pretty damn hot. and yes the gaskets are flimsy metal. any idea when these will be available and if you are doing a before and after dyno???? not sure if that was mentioned already

These phenolic intake spacers have a more noticable gain in the summer months than they do in colder weather. The hotter the temps get, the more gain you will see!
The guys on this forum with the VE30DE motor are always complaining about heat soak. It's only noticable when the motor gets up above 210 degrees in the summer months. But by keeping the upper intake manifold cool, the heat soak is almost completely eliminated!

maxima0001, the VQ30DEK has a composite plastic type intake manifold which already stays pretty cool. I don't see any huge gains that can be had by using these phenolic spacers. We might only be talking a couple horsepower on that motor. But on the VQ35DE, I see a huge potential.

I finished reading this thread, after FINALLY coming back to this board and I don't see any rough estimates on how high the upper IM and runners will be raised. Too much and it won't clear most FSTBs. Just wanted to throw that out there, has come up in past discussions about this.
I really hope this works out. Nextgear just dropped off the face of the earth after some interest.
