me too, I'm sure the air will flow a bit different than stock. If the air going in is cooler it will make a difference. If it doesn't cool the air it won't matter at all.

Will we see some temperature comparison when this is all tested? I think that's important as well as dyno numbers.

since he said he is doing all parts of the intake manifold and a throttle body spacer I would say around 10 hp can be made from all of them. that would be my guess.

no estimate yet... but in my guess I would say around 200 for the set.

That is my goal; to stay close to the $200 mark.

I will definitely provide before and after manifold temperatures. With my testing procedure, I take over 300 temp measurements from various points. With the 3.5L, I will have to take more since there are more surfaces and more spacers that will be used.

I will also do many before and after dyno runs just like I did with the VE.

And if anybody has a Consult type device in their 3.5L, then they will easily be able to read intake air temps from the stock intake temp sensor. NisMax03 has this system, but he has those eBay lower IM spacers on his car. He will have to remove those in order to get accurate before and after results. Also, it really depends on where this intake temp sensor is located. The best location would be somewhere in the middle of the upper intake manifold. Most cars put the temp sensor near the airbox or in the MAF housing.

It seems that $200 is a bit pricey. Why don't you try to keep it closer or lower than the Gen 4 price?

I haven't made a kit of the 4th gen. I assume you meant the 3rd gen VE?

The reason why the price is so much higher is b/c the VQ35 kit includes a LOT more parts than the VE kit! Instead of only getting 2 spacers, the VQ35 will have 5 spacers in this kit. I see more of a potential in the VQ35 than I do with the VE!

I will be open to offering different stages of kits for those that are interested in saving money. CNC machining and material costs are 90% of the cost of this kit. The phenolic spacers are what this kit is all about. I also offer all the hardware and instructions for you to install the kit.

But $200 is DIRT cheap when you compare the other companies that offer 3.5L RWD kits. $300-$370 for roughly the same kit is a little steep.

For a completely new design, if I get my hands on a test vehicle right away, then on many occasions, the kit will be completed and tested in less than 6 weeks.

What kit are you referring to? If the 4th gen, then please find the thread that has been started about that in the 4th gen section.

If you are referring to the 3.5L 5th gen kit, it's already in the works!

200 is a lot, but this project has potential. spacers themselves could make a power difference, then theres the cooler air. in for dyno info

Really...$200 is very reasonable for these. You spend more than that on a ypipe and get the same gains.

Everything is on schedule! I spent the last 2 weeks finishing up the drawings. Last night, I just submitted the drawings to my CNC technician. And all the hardware (ie, longer bolts, washers, barbed fittings, etc) needed to install these kits will be on order tomorrow.

I've been working all day every day to get these made as fast as possible!

I hope to have the first batch in less than 14 days from now!

It looks to be pretty simple if you know how to follow the instructions I plan to prepare. All you have to do is remove the TB, elbow and upper IM. Then remove the lower IM, install spacers with some RTV and torque everything down properly. You shouldn't even have to drain the coolant.

im very interested in this. $200 is a good price. people that think it is to much, are people that dont actually realize what this does.

dont know if this was mentioned yet -
this will cause a problem if you have a FTSB since it almost touches the IM as is.
people will have to use washers to raise the FTSB

hope everything clears

hmmm... intake spacer on intake spacer
I already have an intake spacer on, but if anything I could leave the TB one off, or see if I can rig up a way to stack them all (might be too much)

It will definitely clear. I've already taken measurements.

If you have a FSTB, then you might have to raise the bar up some in order to make it clear. And don't worry about hood clearance, you have plenty of that unless your bar is 3" thick!

the place where it almost touches is the connection
it should be ok, the spacers shouldnt be too thick. im sure a few washers will work. you are right, there is plenty of hood clearance.

Yeah, the place where your bar should touch is right where the elbow meets the UIM.

Your UIM will be raised exactly 3/16". The spacer material will be made from 1/4" phenolic composite. And the 1/16" thick UIM metal gasket will be replaced, giving you a 3/16" raise in manifold height.

I believe autos have even less clearance.. so washers may not even work for the fstb...

My initial test vehicle was an automatic. I don't know what brand FSTB he had, but he already has spacers on his FSTB mounts in order to clear the stock manifold. He said that there are other brands out there that don't have that clearance issue.

The test vehicle I will use to actual install my prototype spacers on and conduct all my testing will be a 6spd.
