On bodykits, do you paint them before you install it or after?

either way works, alotta ppl get them painted off the car. but if you're going to do a full paint job it's best to do it on the car so it all matches.

u should strip the paint of the factory bumper take the kit and mold it to the bumper then paint it...looks great...but i suggest painting both peices beacasue the elements the car have been exposed to will make the paint look slightly different shades.

If you get the AE kit it already comes prepainted...and I would recommend the AE kit on an Icelandic Pearl car more so than another color, cause the kit color is a perfect color match with the car. And from other's experiences with this color, the painted body kit piece is often more "white" than the off-white car. If you have a different color though, you should be okay or if you prefer one kit to another.

I do not understand why some people's body kits do not match. Just make sure the place gets the paint from nissan, that is what my guy in Staten Island does and you can not tell at all

My STILLEN front spoiler and rear valence came yesterday, and in about a week I should have my NINJA side skirts.

Paint the pieces off the car, but have them test fitted before doing *any* work. This way they can see if anything needs to be trimmed/cut/sanded/etc. Good shops will blend in the surrounding area for a more gradual color shift.

Three-stage paints are a little more difficult to match, especially pearl white.

I agree...ALWAYS dry fit before doing anything. It's a must. I took me a total of 5 hours to correctly install the front spolier of my kit, so paitence is definiely key for all the DIYs out there.

I don't think it matters whose paint u use .. they can custom match n e paint using what they have ... but good luck in trying to match the front spoiler with the rest of your car ...

I think it's s/t 2 do with fibreglass ... everyone that I've seen in person (my buddy daniel has the ninja kit) & those on the board (zach with the Ninja kit & irvine 78) has complained that it doesn't match ... not sure if its the fibreglass ... but that's what they all have in common ... if the stillen front lip is polyurethane .. then I'm talking outta my a$$

The STILLEN pieces are polyurethane, and trust me it will match. My car is only 2 months old and I am getting the paint directly through Nissan. And the guy I am going to has done work for me and my family before. He is excellent
