Level 10 TC
I feel kinda stupid for asking, but what exactly does it do? Please answer in retard terms so I can understand...
I saw it on L10's site for under $600, and though it might be good for the next mod here in Jan. The site says 3-4 hours labor, so that doesn't sound too bad at all. Anyone who has one, would you say it's worth it?

Also, do you offer some sort of warranty with yours? Seeing as how it's detrimental to everyday driving, I'm not too sure about the TC anymore. Do they make one with a 2500rpm stall speed? In any case, my "consultant" has deemed that I'll be needing a Stage 3 rebuild anyways...

i agree with u on levelten uses protorque's TC but they also have like 3 other companies if u want to stick with the stall speed that the TC comes with than go get the protorque but if u want it modified in any way levelten is the people to do it for u...... about the stall speed being at 3500 oh well im not too worried about it i am 17 years old and dont really care about drivability and if it is that bad i will have them redo it! i talked to them and made sure that it wasnt too high and it is recommended to get ur stall speed 400-800 rpms lower than ur peak torque so 3500 isnt that bad of a place to have it! about the vb im not gettin it done this week if i did that would mean another week of my car being in the shop and i really cant stand not having my car so i am going to wait till my shop clears up and i can go in on a mon overnight it and have levelten get it back to me on a wed so my ride wont be down for that long! sorry to disappoint u but it wont be that much longer prob a week or so! i will post results about the TC and drivability on thurs when i get it back might be wed but its lookin like thurs!

I know there are other companies that make TC's (i.e. Precision Industries) but the reason why I got the ProTorque is because they have a good reputation, it is a good price and readily in stock.
Did you also plan on getting a tranny cooler? Heat will be increased with the TC. One more thing, please get a set of drag slicks to use on the track with your 3500 TC. =)
Oh yeah, in your sig, you list a custom 2" b-pipe? Isn't our OEM piping 2.25"? You made it even smaller.
Also, at what RPM do you hit your nitrous? If you launch hard with a 3500 TC, you're gonna have to wait until you get traction (unless you have drag slicks) and then spray. If the nitrous hits before you get traction, you're just gonna be sitting there spinning your tires. In the meantime, the person next to you with a lower stall speed will have already hooked up their tires, hit nitrous around 3500RPM, and will be long gone. =)
I talked to you about this over the weekend, you were originally looking at getting a 4000rpm stall, said that L10 recommended it. If they truly recommended a 4000 stall convertor for a daily driver, then they are not "trustable" I recommend nothing over 3000 unless you just want to drive that pain in the *** around.
The weakest link is the VB set-up, its the ONLY thing that will prevent damage to your tranny after this kind of abuse. The TC will not do that, but in fact the opposite. At 3500, you will not have downshifting when you slow or even stop in most cases, making daily driving a total pain, launches will be excessively hard on all of your drivetrain components. The VB is a linear change, shifts are somewhat normal when normal driving, and harder/firmer when getting into it.
L10 isn't known for working well with complaints,( or so I've heard). So if its not what you want, they will make you pay again, and you will have to remove the tranny again to replace it, again.
I know you have to absorb all of this info and try to make sense of it. But hey, I was 17 (over 18 years ago) myself, so what do I know? I've been working with Maximas since you were 10, and cars 5 years before you were born. We're not trying to steer you in the wrong direction, just give you advise on things some of us have knowledge on.

hahah...a 4000 RPM stall TC...ROFLMAO =) Just let him get a 4000 RPM stall TC because L10 said so and be done with it - that is until, he posts saying his car doesn't perform very well, he gets horrible gas mileage and his tranny is dying...
