sublime258-the pics are on photohost.org, every once in a while, it just takes a dump and then 5 minutes later everything is working again.

Just got back from Discount Tire. Glad I had the warranty certificates on the Michelins. Not only did they give me a new Michelin (Pilot HX MXM4) for the cost of a new certificate ($18) but refunded the $184 the Bridgestone Potenza R040 the Nissan dealer put on my car.
Why not just get the refund and keep the Bridgestone? 140 treadwear rating, that's why. The Michelins were a month old and have a 320 treadwear rating so the Potenza wouldn't even last half as long before I had to replace it.
BTW, the Michelins have MUCH better off the line traction than the Yokohama 520s I had when I got the car.

Could have been much worse if hitting the driveshaft vaulted it into the floor pan or caused me to lose control. What really amazed me is how well the car handled even with a tire completely blown out. Other than sluggish steering and the rumbling, I would have been hard pressed to tell something was wrong. Pretty impressive, actually.
