rsb installation

Could someone please give me a link that actually takes me to installation instructions for rsb instead of some other crap that has nothing to do with what im looking for. Ive searched and every link I found for installation instructions to me to the MIDDLE of a thread that had nothing to do with it.

Here are some finished pics of a addco rsb on my max. It was an easy install and installation is almost self explanatory by using pics. I love this mod and it works great.

on the pics of your rsb showing it going under the axle, i put the u bolts as far apart as possible to accent the sway bars work. where the welds are that hold the trailing arms. i put mine right by there.

That looks like a Addco, the Progress uses thicker material and the trailing arm uses a larger plate /adapter instead of that squared Ubolt clamp! But Addco's been around since the late 60's and their products are effective and inexpensive!

In my opinion if you have them all the way out then the bar may "flex" a little more in the center. Its like taking a spagetti noodle and putting your fingers on each end and pushing towards each other. It will snap really quick. Now take your fingers and slide them towards the center and do it. It is alot stronger...

i hear waht your saying but you would get flex the opposite way too. from the distance between the trailing arm bushing to the axle bushing. i look at it like a lever...if you want to move a boulder you put a 20 ft board under and its easier to move than a 5 ft board,. i figure the way i have it set is on the 5 ft side making it harder (tighter) to move. but you do bring up a good point... is it flexing there arelease the work it should be doing. Does anyone have a writeup or something discussing bushing spacing.

I would divide the length of the rsb by three, so the brackets would be at the 3rd's. A happy medium.

Just watch out for the torque member above the rear axle it won't let you spread those mid sectional bushings out too far! You will bottom out on the torque members hardware.....

From my understanding of how the bar works, the section of the bar between the axle bushings works in torsion, not bending. So spreading the bushings out farther creates less bending to the outside of the axle bushings, however it doesnt create bending between the bushings.

You're limited to where you can install the mid sectional bushing anyway, cause if you install them to far out you will contact that torsional member.

i put my bushings as far out as possible. they sit right next to the welds on the beam. i had elongated the bushing bracket and the plate underneath and pushed the bar as forward as possible to get the stiffest setting and at first it hit on big dips. what i did is dimple the torsion beam maybe 1 mm and now it clears and no touching.
