Good luck getting the dealership to "fix it". They aren't going to touch the audio system. They will most likely give tell you that they can order you a new head unit or speakers. My Bose head unit crapped out a week after I bought my car, and they wouldn't fix it, even under extended warranty.

EXACTLY WTF?!?!?!? Only guess is he had 2 maximas and the other ones sub blew. I'm pissed. Oh well, i'll cover my grieving with the nice sound of 3.5 exhaust till i get a sub;D

Question- should i just get a after market jl 8in for about the same price as the factory sub? Or just get a normal bose sub for the 02 max?

those subs should be pretty cheap on here, since most of us have pulled theirs out since theyre sub-par.

i can only assume it was pulled was because the old owner had an aftermarket sub, id check for evidence of wire taps or things like that. ive seen people do some weird car system installs before. hope they just removed it properly instead of just yanking it out.

im shocked my bose lasted as long as it did, but jics on full stiff doesnt mesh well with a stock cd player, aftermarket is the way to go, our cars have decent potential for an awesome soundstage

I wasn't happy with my stock Bose system either so I added a 10" pre amped bazooka basstube to it and it sounds pretty good.Check out the classified section cuz usually someone has one up for sale pretty cheap.

I actually had the same problem, on the forums I searched it up and apparently since my sub keeps shaking it caused something to get loose on the relay which is on the sub. All I did was sodder the connection points and the bass came back. I'm too lazy to find the post, but its on the forums.
