UR pulley

Anybody know if there is a GD or sale anywhere for org members for the UR pulleys (stock diameter)? Ive been looking around on teh GD threads and searching for the past few days but I havent seen anything. Even if there isnt, is there any place that sells them for less than the $248 UR wants on the website?

thanks!

Nope...and IMHO, the gains you'll see from that little hunk of aluminum aren't worth the $250 you're looking to drop. You could increase your HP with a set of NWP's spacers for the same price versus just freeing up the HP you have now.

If you really want a lightweight pulley, go check out CosmoRacing.com. They have them for $60 a piece. Or they were last I checked. Someone here in the 6th gen forum has one and said he hasn't had a single problem with it.

Actually, in all honesty, if you're looking for minor gains, you'd be better investing $50 in one of NWP's VIAS block-off plates. It's way more worth the money than a pulley.

Thanks for the reply. If I do get a pulley, wich I probably will, it will only be the UR brand and nothing else. Thanks for the info though. And ive heard of these block off plates. Who here is selling them and where can I see them/find out more info?

thanks again!

If you're interested in a block-off plate, PM Aaron92SE or check out his site NWP Engineering.

They might still be on backorder, I don't know...but he's got pictures and info on the NWP site.

I have one of those stock diameter UR pulleys, bought a year ago when UR was asking $200, not the stupidly expensive $250 they're charging today. With hindsight, I have to say SLCPunk267 is spot-on: your money is better spent elsewhere.

Where's the block off plate for the pulley? What's the full name for it?

Those are two different things. There is no block off plate for the pulley

Sorry if I was vague in my description of the block-off plate. The plate actually deletes the VIAS on your upper intake plenum. It really doesn't have anything to do with the pulley.

The VIAS delete, or block-off plate, actually allows your car to breathe more freely which means a little more power up top. I would say the gains you're looking at are probably comparable to the lightweight pulley, only at a fraction of the price.

Other org members have gotten Ralco pulleys from eBay for ~$60 via make an offer.

http://forums.maxima.org/5th-generat...-pictures.html

All these pulleys should be about the same, unless there are machining defects. After all, these are just round pieces of aluminum.
