P0300, p0303 & p0305

P0300, p0303 & p0305
For the last month, I've been getting these codes (pending codes sometimes) intermittently. They usually show up for a day or less and then go away. Right before the light comes on, I feel a rough idle on startup but that goes away and the car runs fine. Right now no lights and car is running fine. I get the P0300 and P0303 more and the P0305 only showed up once. I've had the spark plugs changed about two months ago. Also had the cylinder 4 ignition coil changed when I was getting P0304 about a month and half ago and that took care of it. So my question is, should I change the ignition coils on the 3 and 5 cylinders? I'm hesitant because when the SES light does come on, it doesn't stay on very long and the car runs fine. Does the ignition coil slowly go bad which could be causing the on/off SES light or does it go bad at once?

Same thing happened to me with the ignition coil SES light would go on and off till finally the coil gave out completely. Car would shake like crazy, till I got the new and put it in. After that it ran fine. So yeah ur ganna have to change those ignition coils out.

Thanks man. Ordered the coils and will have them put in when I get them.

Yeap, got OEM coils because I got lots of advice on these forums against anything but OEM. That said, when I replaced a coil in a front cylinder, I used an Advance Auto coil. Was not aware at the time that aftermarket coils can be troublesome. So far so good though and if it does go bad, I can replace it easily since its in the front. The rear ones I want to make sure are OEM.

Thanks Supra. I'm going to have the mechanic doing the work so I may ask him to test. Hopefully he has a coil tester. If not coils, what else could it be?

How long did the light go on/off before it finally gave out? I've been SES free for a couple weeks now and engine is running smooth. I bought the coils online and am wondering whether I should return them.

I have a PO300 code as well with no others.. I've been fighting it for months now and still no solution.. Looks like I may just end up replacing all 6 coils since I don't know what else to do. My car is scarey to even drive its so bad. Good luck with the your codes, let us know how it goes.

The SES would be on and off so it was like back and forth. Would run good then bad. I think the longest the light stayed off was for about a week and a half, but once it started shacking like crazy thats when i said ok its time for some new coils.

I'm getting the code below in conjunction with a P0303. I've already had the spark plugs replaced so I'll have the ignition coil replaced now. My question is, does the P0328 mean anything more serious or be looking at? Or is it tied to the P0303/ignition coil?
P0328: Knock Sensor 1 Circuit High Input (Bank 1 or Single Sensor)

I have not, only because I don't have the tools or the expertise to get to the three cylinders in the back. I have a mechanic I take it to but rather than have him charge me for any sort of diagnosis and testing, I usually tell him exactly what I want done, like in this case I think I'll get him to swap out the three rear coils but was just wondering if I should be looking at other things at well given the P0328 code.
