How about the Carlbrid Resonator? Hybrid Carltonator? CMaxonator? C-Maxonator? Hy-res Carlton/ Carlton Hy-res?

Hmmm, now that I think about it, those kinda sound more like names for sex toys.

I will have to write rather small to use this one! But maybe "The Flux Capacitor" would be best!

Magnaflow resonators. Tried and true, sound great, lifetime warranty, $70 all day long.

For the life of me, we still haven't figured out how to get our system to hit the heat shields.

By the way, we ship to Canada every week, warranty our systems for life (to the original purchaser), and we sure as hell don't have any silly disclaimers about voiding the warranty with "competitive driving" or "racing applications."

Meaning what exactly? Are you offering to install a magnaflow resonator of adequate size into my Cattman setup to reduce volume for $70? I didn't think so. And you said my comments were ridiculous! Sorry dude, this is far more idiotic than anything I said!

You're system? Who are you representing? Are you a manufacturer? Instead of commenting on how silly comments are made by a member not representing Cattman or other entity, how about stop hiding and be transparent.
So "your" system doesn't hit the heat shields? Okay. Cause all of us with Cattman components have just struggled with that problem.

Honestly, do you have something meaningfull or helpful to contribute?

Azhitman I understand what you're trying to do here, but cattman isn't new to the maxima scene bro, he's been around for as long as the 5.5 gen max has been out and his product is tried and true. Expensive, yes, but people actively wait for his product because of the known quality of it. So beating down his product isn't going to help your cause. If you want to get more into this area of the maximas you gotta respect that and change your approach a bit or you're just going to **** people off.

Ill take my Cattman 3" over the BRM product any day. This is not how you win customers over. You make yourself seem really childish and really biased by making the posts you do. Feel free to start up your own thread to sell exhausts

I'm always interested in how some see and determine ignorance in cases of personal preference and opposing opinions.

It's just an overpriced cat back exhaust. Get over it.

You guys just keep humping cattman's leg constantly and I don't understand why. I bought a custom made 3'' mandrel bent exhaust for under $450 years ago.

You can have one custom made and pick out all the components you want for LESS than his price tag.

You are buying a cat back that is 1/5 the value of the car if not closer to 1/4 that is just a stupid move financially when their are less expensive options which offer the exact same performance.

edit: I can buy an exhaust for my BMW which has twice the piping and components for less money and that is with the BMW tax added. That is the price from the middle man and not the manufacture just like in cattman's place. Either he is raping you on profit or needs to find a new shop to work with because they are hosing him. Hell a single mandrel bent 3.5'' catback for my bmw is under $750 new from the distributor not the manufacturer. You have to assume the manufacturer is making at least a 30% profit and the distributor 10%. Larger piping, multiple feet longer, 3 V-Bands and other hardware, two muffler tips:

a lot has happened in this thread since I last checked it. ...

but on topic: different strokes for different folks(and different pocket books). This system is too rich for my blood(I go with cheaper catbacks), but I wont knock those who buy them. Cattman has been one of the few manufacturers that have stuck with the maxima, when others have moved on to other makes and models.

I love this forum too, just dont love someone telling me how I should and should not spend the money I bust my *** for. I understand having different opinions and viewpoints, but literally forcing another product down my throat and talking down the product this thread was initially made for is starting to get old.

The drama has passed, I think I can re-open this for some further discussion/follow up reviews, and mostly any other resonator talk since I've been DD'ing my car and I need a larger resonator.

Let's go.

Ok what does everyone suggest, 30", 28", 24", 18"?

If I could fit a 30" under there I might.

I'll have to get the measurements between the two floor brackets, but as I recall, when I was looking at mine, a 22" would fit snug while still allowing for possible movement with the exhaust. I considered going 22" but decided it would likely be overkill in my case. Didn't feel like the added work and cost to cram it in there.

I'm using the same 18" Magnaflow CMax recommended. Getting it finished up this weekend. Decided to teach myself how to torch weld stainless steel. Pipe is easy, I'm hating torch welding of the flanges though. That's a story for another time.

I used to have an 18” on my old 2.5”, and it fir under there fine, along with a separate resonator that was 12” long. So I think a 22” is smart, being that neither of my old resonators were anywhere near 6” diameter in size.

Post sound clips when you get the chance, also, what are your current mods?

I know Chris has cattman 3", cattman headers, SR intake and maybe the spacers too. He is an automatic.

I believe he has also bored out his stock maf housing.

All of above: confirming the spacers, as well as block plate, timing advance, cattman cat-converter, wrayth enging torque mount, manual tranny mounts, and ground kit. I have bored my MAF. Also HD2. Just to complete everything under the hood. Just basic stuff.

I plan to take methodical db measurements before and after. Cmax talked about this and posted his results. My meter is an iPhone app and so should only be taken at lightly. Though it should off a decent pre/post comparison.

Posted in my Carltonator thread along with some measurements we were talking about. Although, the videos show up as X's and seem glitchy. May have posted and/or hosted them wrong. Used Photobucket.

How is everyone enjoying the newly revised cattman catback? I'm curious as to how everyone likes the larger resonator in the cattman kits.

Mine should be here today so I'll post here for updates, maybe in the other thread.

I believe I'm the only one with headers and a 3" test pipe that has this unit, or at least from what I've heard/read.

Quite honestly, I'm not sure what Cattman was thinking with that tiny little resonator on the old/primary generation cat back. Sooooo loud at certain speeds.
