G**damn f&%$#ing subwoofer!
My subwoofer sucks (01 Max SE). The thing rattles like there's no tomorrow. I took it to the dealer three times. The first time, they "fixed it", with no difference. The second time, they replaced the entire subwoofer, which was moderately better for a few days and then worse than ever. The third time, they "tightened it up" and it sounded pretty good for a month or two, now its rattling just as bad as ever. I'm pretty sure there was a TSB on this but it doesn't seem to matter. If I pop the trunk and push on the bottom of the magent while I have the music bumping, the rattling stops. What's the problem here?
My old 89 Max SE with the Bose 6x9s in the back, no sub, had more thump than this POS.

I am mad also at the Bose system that i have in my car , the rattling s unbearable! I a currently changing out the system and using the bose speakers from the 97-99 maximas since the sound is 100X better. the dealer has no idea how to fix the problem!

My Fix
What I did was roll up pieces of cut up bath towels (used duct tape to keep then in a ball) and stuffed them under the rear deck around the opening of the Sub-woofer. Adding this tension to the deck stoppped the rattles. Has been quiet for a year now.

i got mine fixed myself
if you look at the back dash you will see that the dash board is kind of short and it is very shakey
what i did was i took the dash out and i took owens corning insulation and insulated it and then i put it back on
and guess wat the rattle was gone
you can also take 5 pencils and stick them where the dash meet the window
that works too
hope i helped
