In regards to your idle relearn issue. Have you done it with ALL accessories off. Radio, hvac, lights, fogs,.... I learned that it matters from Aaron at NWP. My relearn was working when I installed the BBTB, he told me to make sure it's all off and it friggin worked.

I assumed that. Already advanced timing to +2°. There's no noticeable change (maybe a slight for the worse IMO). I'm gonna try this for a week to see how it influences the MPG (KML for me ).
BTW, my timing on idle reads ~7° BTDC.

That's a European model - Maxima QX.
2.0L 140hp (Feels pretty underpowered IMO).

Yup, know all that. It's a software thing. Gets hung up while performing the test and crashes. Just seeing if it was just me or if anyone else had the issue. Email sent in. Waiting on reply.

I was able to use self test features before the last update but now they are not working. Will not relearn idle, etc. Am I the only one having this problem?

Guess not.... any news on when the problem will be fixed?

Just to hit a topic that was discussed a while ago, the abs features do work. Confirmed on auto 02 gle with traction control. Diagnosed a fault in the front left abs sensor with it today. That is all...

This is an interesting thread, but I'm unclear on how my Anroid phone would connect to the plug under my dash to read the codes?

Bluetooth OBDII reader. Can get them off Amazon for like 10 bucks. The one that works fine on my car cost 7.11 on Amazon right now. For twenty bucks total cost, you can be playing around. It's neat, but not a tuning tool......more like a gadget

I had the same exact problem....do yourself a favor and buy this one, it's just $10, and it completely solves the problem. If i'm not mistaken, it has to have the supported OBDII protocol which is KWP2000. It took a couple of weeks to arrive, being that it comes from china, but it's cheap, and it works!

^ Just for confirmation, my ELM327 works perfectly as well.

I will add this....Before I recently switched my phone, I had the Samsung Galaxy 3 and while everything worked, it was rather slow at times and idle relearn did hang up a few times on me.

With my new Galaxy 5, the speed is incredible and never any lag or issues.

Just adding that to the mix, cuz phone speed does play a big role in this, esp. for live data logging. Using a tablet with faster processing speed may be a good idea for those with slightly older phones.

Alright guys, Ive bought two different types of Bluetooth dongles. Neither seem to want to connect to car guage pro. the second one I bought was a vgate and it only seemed to connect with torque, but even then its not the best. Any tips and tricks with getting it to connect to car guage? thanks

You need a Bluetooth OBDII to use with your Android phone using Car Guage Pro. Plug it into your car and connect. I think the password is 0000 or 1234 or something like that. You have to do it within a minute or so of plugging it in. All that's to it.

The answer is two post above yours...

Buy one that's been proven to work perhaps...

The vgate ELMS is listed as one of the capatibles in the description on the play store when buying car gauge. I've used 3 different devices and non seems to want to connect or it'll connect then say error

Add me to the list of peeps that didn't work. I bought the one posted down there, using CGP on my galaxy s3 (SGH-T999). I uninstalled pandora, played with the app a bit.. tried right after plugging it in.. etc. I get the error message that the device hasn't responded, or no response from the ecu.
Next up is the vgate.

I bought one just like this, except from ebay, for 5 bucks, and it didn't come with a disc.
Amazon.com: New Version V1.5 ELM327 OBDII OBD2 Bluetooth Car Diagnostic Interface Scanner: Automotive Amazon.com: New Version V1.5 ELM327 OBDII OBD2 Bluetooth Car Diagnostic Interface Scanner: Automotive

When I got it, it came in a little plastic bag with a bunch of Chinese all over it without any sort of packing info. Popped it in. Troubleshooted the passcode since it didn't give me the code for it (which I learned is 1234).

Used Car Guage Pro to connect with my Samsung Galaxy S4 and I was able to advance my timing.

So the ELM327 OBDII Blutooth (model in my link) with an Android Samsung Galaxy S4 works.

Yeah it's really strange, I've tried two different models of elm and neither of them will hold a connection, my phone will recognize it however the connection breaks right after it connects

I guess I'll have to try that one. I've also tried two Elm devices and neither will connect to the ECU. They pair up with my phone just fine but Car Gauge Pro and OBD Check both say the device can't communicate with the ECU. TH
his is really starting to suck!

Same!! It's so frustrating, I was so looking forward to seeing how altering the timing would affect performance and experiment around and the dongle won't even work. I've had 3

Just got that one and it works! Finally after having 3 little ELM units not working I thought it might be my car.

I had to unpair the last one because the phone thought the new one was the old one. After that it was fine.

self test under diagnostics

I've bought multiple adapters on amazon and they work. They're just those blue ones.

Ok found my issue. Don't know what to do about it. So if I go into Bluetooth settings and select "no prompt module select" it will connect but doesn't seem to give me all my options. If I unselect it like default settings it asks when connecting what car. I select nissan and I then select ecm gasoline. It says device is not responding and then it disconnects
