Scrapping Noise when turning

I have this weird scraping noise when I make right turns. Not the clicking noise you get from bad axles. Like metal scraping together. I goes away once the wheel is straight. Buddy of mine thinks its the control arms.

I just fixed that on mine, it was corrosion on the disk brake heat shields/backing plates. Especially if you lift the front of car up, turn the wheels, and hear nothing.

+1 Same problem awhile ago and that was my issue. To confirm jack offending side up, grab your tire and push/pull it feeling for any play. If it's solid, you've generally at least just ruled out the most common cause.

I thought bearing made a humming noise while driving. This is a scraping noise.

If it's when you're turning I would almost guarantee its those damn heat shields behind the brakes. I took a flathead and covered it with a towel and wedged it in between the inner side of the disc brake and the heat shield on the lower side and the problem has been solved for months. It keeps recurring though and I just have to keep repeating it. I might actually be doing it again tomorrow if you need pics of what I'm talking about.

Yeah I am thinking that's the case. My car sits a lot cause I have a company vehicle so I am sure rust builds up a lot.

It was the control arms. Both replaced and scraping noise gone.
