Would there be any problem unhooking the battery for a month

Hello All,

I have a new to me 2001 Maxima. I am going got need to store it for a month or more while I go on a trip. Normally in this situation I unhook the battery to avoid any phantom drain or any other problems.

Would there be any problems doing this with this car? Alarm? Computer? Etc?

Thanks

Seb

There is no issue unhooking it for a month. Worst case, the ECU codes reset and you lose your clock & radio presets.

I wished I did it last two covid winters. I let the car sit for a couple of months and the battery was dead upon returning to the car.

I’ve got one of these in each of my vehicles for just such occasions.

I did that once, a few years ago. I kept the battery in the garage, and reinstalled it a month later when I came back. Started right up without a problem.

No issues with disconnecting the battery. Hopefully you won't need a smog anytime soon after you return, because the monitors will no longer be ready and you'll have to drive around a bit to reset them.

wont be any problem at all, everything will reset even if you remove the battery for a second or for a year
i've left my car sitting for a month battery connected normally and it didn't even care
on the other hand in my 1994 gmc owners manual it they actually recommend disconnecting the battery to avoid drain if you dont drive for 4 weeks+
