it's OT... but it's good OT. Don't we all want alittle something to rib toyota/lexus owners with? Tomorrow, when that hag gets the last cup of coffee as I'm standing there, I can say "oh, I heard about those problems with the lexus engines, sorry to hear that for ya"

My family has long been Toyota loyalists. They've had an 85, 90, and now a 98 and 00 Camry. The 98 and 00 both have the 5SFE Inline-4 engine (couldn't convince them to get the 1MZ-FE V6

This tells you something...
As the car manuf. try to push the engines to be more efficient, in this case raising the operating temp. of the combustion chamber to achieve a 100% fuel burn, regular oil can't handle it! So, one more arguement as to why to use full synthetic oil.
