Berk intake sounds like blowoff valve?
Anyone else have this.... At low RPMS is sort of whistles like a blow off valve, and then when my foot hits the floor, it roars, no more whistle.....Anyone else?

Yup, it sounds like a BOV
just cruise around in 3rd or 4th gear, or 5th on the highway.
and give some lite throttle, and the intake will make this "Psssshhh" sound as it sucks the air in. It makes that sound again when the throttle is released. It really sounds like a BOV on low volume.
As far as power is concerned, hmm.. I'll tell you my story.
Last summer I could only manage 16.0 at 90mph, that was with just a Y-pipe. But last week, I got consistent 15.7s at 93+ mph. The only difference was the Berk Tech intake. The weather was significantly colder than it was in summer, but can it make that much of a difference? I'm sure the intake is good for at least 7~8 hp. I'll find out when I dyno next week. I should be pushing out at least 205. I got 199 last time with just the y-pipe.

Berk's great for the $$$
I realize that you can spend more for a CAI and get a LITTLE more performance, but for the $75-$115 savings I'll sacrifice the 0.75hp difference . I am actually amazed at how loud the noise is...with the windows down at 30mph I can hear the intake quite clearly...I could imagine what other people are thinking when they hear the "Pssssssh" as I floor it and pass them with ease on the streets! Now all I need is an open muffler and a y-pipe (at the least) to REALLY improve the airflow...and SOUND...of my VQ!

Still doesn't eliminate the resonator between the maf and the tb..........I'd go with the Franken intake. Or do a hybrid. Just don't eat out for a week, and stay home, or dont use gas on the weekend, go with friends in their cars.. Save money

1. Louder?
2. Better?
than the Berk? Please, experienced answers only.

If you want to spend over double the money for the same performance gain, you can go with Steve's. Otherwise you can stick with the Berk Tuning.
My $0.02.

Anything is possible. The only other good thing about the frank intake is it has a plug for all the sensors, even the one that sits in the front air scoop. But, the air is still the same regardless.

Good, both are here
I have a question about the Berk and FC intakes.
I am a novice at mods so please excuse my question.
What is the exact difference between the two? Does the Berk only replace the last section of the stock intake with the K&N filter and adapter, and the FC also replaces the mid-section of the intake?
Not to start a war, but has anyone done a dyno test on the same car with each installed to compare the two?

Wow, the guys here in T.O had better #'s with the Berk over the stillen. This shouldn't be a debate, the truth is out, all that has been said is one is cheaper then the other, while that other gives a couple HP more....That should be it.

I've got a JWT popcharger and I'm considering buying the piping
for the Franken Intake. It's supposed to fit nicely with the JWT.
I'll tell you guys how that works out when I get it....gonna be placing the order later today.....I hope they ship quick!

I'm not expecting any performance gains.....just want it too look nice and sound nice. I'm pretty sure the sound of my intake will change once I get that piping. Problem is.........I just realized that when i get my Y-pipe I probably won't ever hear my intake ever again.
