Are you speaking in terms of aftermarket? I have Autopage and it works great when I'm leaving my ship in Norfolk and walking down the pier I can start my car while all the Viper and Clarion owners are trying to get closer. Has lots of other great features too ...

Well, your warranty should not change unless the alarm or install causes the problem.... which if you have an electrical problem, will more then likely be from the alarm/install.

If you are going to do it, find someone that knows what they are doing. A MASTER MECP installer only, and make sure they have lots of experience on NEW luxury cars. I've pulled out loads of alarms whose poor install caused anything from drained battery, speratic mirror oppertation, even no starts.

^^ ^^

I don't know if it is a must to have your installer MASTER MECP certified but, just make sure that they have worked on a new max before. Also make sure that they do have some kind of experience and they are not learning on your car.

As far as remote starters that work with the factory remotes, check out crimestopper RS-900IV and there is an audiovox/prestige piece that works ok. DEI also makes a unit but, I do not know the model number.

Well, there may be guys out there that aren't certified that can do the job. But at least a Master installer has proof that he isn't all talk, and chances are he/his shop will cover all the expenses if there is a problem. And if they don't you have something to hang over their head. They won't want to lose their status.
