Window tinting for 6th gen Max
#42
I live in south west louisiana -- like 30 min. away from tx / la line -- like 2 hours away from houston --- i need a place to tint my windows -- round the houston area. La limit is 35% -- and with my blk car i def. need something darker than 35% ... maybe 15% or 20% -- which is 'ok' in Tx.
So any suggestions as to an 'ok' place around the houston area.

I need some advice guys....I'm not sure if it was Ramberg or Chernmax who had their rear window re-tinted. Anyway, the reason I'm asking is b/c my tint had a water bubble and I took it back and they tried to push the water out. Needless to say, it made it worse and I see a white spot in the rear view mirror. It's like day light is coming thru, but it's not b/c I don't see it at night. I think what happened is they crimped the tint and it's bunched up, which makes it look like a white spot. However, the guy doesn't like to re-tint the rear window b/c it may damage the defrosters. He is willing to refund me $50.00, but wanted to know if I should do that and let someone else re-tint my window? Have you all had any problems w/ your window being re-tinted? All the other windows are perfect, but it's driving me crazy, when I look thru the mirror!

here is my problem...the guy does this out of his house, but is extremely good. He doesn't like re-tinting the rear windows b/c of the defrosters, he doesn't want to be liable, I guess. So, he's willing to give me 50.00 back and for me to go to a tint shop and have it redone. I had him do it in the first place, b/c he's so much better than the shops. I'm stuck in a rock and a hard place. I'm not even sure if they use Lumar, I guess I'll be calling tomorrow. I know it's going to cost me a fortune for them to remove it. It's just one bubble, but it's sits in the right stop of the rear view mirror.

i figure since hes good, he shouldnt have a problem taking off the backglass tint if he take his time. Stripping back glasses is one of the most annoying parts of tinting(that and shrinking tint for corvettes). Or you could ask the shop to strip and the guy to retint.
