So your telling me that I can have 298hp like teh G35 if nissan had my throttle body open further uner WOT?
That seems very far fetched

, considering they have different headers, intake plenums etc.
Thanks,

I'm as curious as you are. However, think about this: bigger plenums, headers, etc., same throttle body.

That isn't where to get 15hp from. That only makes the engine putout a little more torque at a lower RPM than before. Our ECUs are tuned the way they are because of the dual stage intake manifold. The G35 ECU does not have that so they use a different VTC ramping.

It basically means that our intake manifolds have 2 stages of operation; one stage for low rpm operation and one stage for high rpm operation via a power valve to control the incoming airflow.
Very loosely put, the point of this is to sort of get the best of both worlds: to give the car some low end torque by maintaining a certain runner length and airflow speed while also letting things open up at high rpms by shortening the path of airflow and effectively increasing the volume.
Some general information I found via Google:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Variabl...ntake_manifold
And a Nissan explanation of the variable intake theory from the 5th Gen Stickies:
http://www.nissanusa.com/vehicles/Me...20702|,00.html
I believe the reason why the Zs don't suffer from much low end loss despite having a single stage manifold is because of the way their ECU is set-up, which is probably what SR20DEN was getting at above.

if the price hasn't been mentioned yet, then it is $590 for the 5-speed auto ecu; i got this info from a local tuner shop of mine and they also said that the car would be out for about 3-4 days

Depending on where you are, 3-4 days would be about right.

I sent mines yesterday at around 6pm eastern time and it got there in CA at 9am today, so I should expect mines tomorrow morning..
I am in MA, Cali is across the usa from me, so it should take 2-3 days max. from when you take it off to when you get it back, but we'll see, I'll keep you updated on it..

Flat as possible is ideal, because apparently the "bumps" cause a little power loss.

TS doesn't charge installation, cause you take it out and send it to them, they will then send it back to you to install yourself...
the auto like mines shifts like stock when driving normal, it does shift faster with less lag in the shift.
when driving fast or pressing the gas pedal down hard, it will up shift at 6500 rpms, it almost redlines.. the rpms also remain high and they don't drop off like stock, its raw power.
I love it, can't wait till I'm done with it..

O, sorry i'm a noob with ECU's i guess. I didn't know it was just a few screws and it slides out type of thing, since i found that out today! lol and wait.....isn't the stock redline 6600? and with the upgraded ecu it will b 6500? or did i misunderstand you?

there is a difference there... I have the ecu so mines shift closer to 7k, I forget what stock is...

I have the 5-speed automatic with manual mode....so your telling me that in manual mode i can shift it higher? I ask this becasue i was doing manual mode and the thing still shifted at the redline that it would shift at in auto.....and you say yours shifts closer to 7k, and is that auto or using the manumatic?

on manual, you can hold it pass the shift point and shift it when its at a higher rpms though, they only thing is you have to get used to it cause hold it to long and the car will hit the rev limiter..
the key is to hold the shifter down then let go when you pass the shifting point or almost redline..
