You would need to get more air in and out to increase the output. The sparks are big enough and the injectors can handle more since we can run pretty rich.

I would definately think for that we would have to go with' better fuel regulator, cams, and a great exhaust. Turbo's and Sc's do not intrigue me much. I would rather have a great N.a Motor

No matter how good a N.A. engine is you can allways add a turbo to it

I'm hoping that the TSQ ECU will work well for me, I wonder how much it affects your mileage??

I think we can get the TQ to 240, and the hp won't go up very much now, but I'm sure we can hit 235hp for sure..

Hey Tek: Throw some 100 octane in there and crank up the timing and see what that does.

the ECU? is 495 on the site(http://www.technosquareinc.com/index.html), I get it done free cause I'm one of their test cars..

it looks like we can't get any more power out of it though, Tadashi thinks any more tuning won't do much, so a 17hp gain on a maxima with an intake is the best we can do I guess, I was hoping for abit more, but oh well..

Since I plan on going to Stillen Open House, Ill try to get on the dyno and see what mine produces.

Tek: Maybe you can ask Tadashi what the difference in the program between your car and mine is. Mine has the 350Z program

Deus, we all have the 350Z mapping, but Maxima's ECU has lower limits in timing and throttle response. I just spoke with Tadashi. He's getting a dynometer install in his shop, so he doesn't have to go to another shop to do the tuning. He's going to tune our ECU himself. As Deus and I experienced the Z and G ECU's, the have a little more kick, but produce more heat in the process. Tadashi may have found a way to replicate w/o excessive heat. He will call us for appointment in a few weeks.

But if you want to dyno before, that'll be cool too. Sexima told me what his dyno was!

That is an awesome number, I wish I could see a slip and he would tell us how much of the increase was attributed to his modified Alti headers he installed.

I think any mod is gonna have an effect on the prgramming. Thats the problem I see, is that it has to have different programming for all combinations of mods. Correct me if Im wrong.

Well I would think that any mod that has to do with input into the engine would require some tweaking... an intake since you have to adjust the AF ratio, IM, headers, stuff like that.

Past the engine though, I don't think you would need to... I don't see why something like a y-pipe or an exhaust would require the ECU to be tweaked in any way. After all, that's past the engine and on its way out of the car... sure it affects performance but it's in a completely different way than something like an intake or headers.

But I could be wrong...

More advanced timing, more punch. For some reason, the Max's ECU rejected that advanced of a timing, but worked fine on G35 ECU. My car did run hotter though, I could smell the heat. Like I mentioned earlier, Tadashi may have found a way to by pass or correct this, but we would have to wait until he has a dynometer setup in the shop so he can do a live tune, instead of tune from AFR only then dyno.

Not so much the y-pipe and exhaust, but headers will require some timing adjustment.

it would make a difference if you installed those mods after the ecu program, but since you have them already they should make up for that as you get it tuned.

usually you feel like you gained power, but you actually leaned the car out so it gets more air than fuel in the engine, with alittle more fuel to adjust to the lean issue you will make alot more power with the same mods..

if you get it done, just make sure you get it dynoed first, so Tadashi knows how much to give ya..

not sure how those G35 ecu's are running, but I have alot more timing in my program and its holding fine. no heat, no nothing. If you are having this problem I would stick with the maxi ecu and just time the hell out of it. my car has alot of kick, and it pulls hard at any rpms..

When we tried with my ECU, it went in protection mode; CEL and no throttle. You and I are on the same program, the car pulls hard from low all the way up. The G ECU pulls little, but noticeably harder from mid band, 3500 RPM on, maybe due to their single stage IM setup. The heat is from heat build up in the rear banks since we are cross-mounted FWD, unlike RWD where air gets to both sides. Tadashi said he may have found a way to do more, we'll just have to wait a few weeks.

I would have kept the G35 ECU if it shifts gear properly and cruise control works!
