Result of cracking, not tuning. No SES when back to stock program. Check sum value error, ECU can't find value or result after dignostic. Could be pointing to the wrong address.

You or I can buy the same equipment they sell and use and tune our own, but there are some trade secrets. I'll get what I can.

Once again, what do you know, if anything about these ECU's and how they differ? Aside from transmissions/VDC meaning what parameters, most namely timing, VTC, and a/f are different?

I know from looking at the long list of firmware versions for Nissan hanging on a clipboard in his office, compare to the version on my ECU when it was plugged in to his laptop. For all I know, same firmware/ECU for different cars/year have different number.

As far as the parameter settings, 7-character blocks of codes filling up the whole screen. Tadashi was changing them with the help of some printed Japanese coding and a TexasInstrument scienctific calculator.

Just try to get as much details, like how much is left untapped. Don't go hungry and bring something to drink. The tuning could take a while.

I'm not a waiting room person. I was 'participating", if you will. You can talk the Yoshie, the Queen of Drift.

Im back from Technosquare. After Tadashi changed some of the parameters, we test drove it. Wow, this car is really amazing now. Nissan apparently detunes the car by closing the throttle plate. This program opens it up all the way. also, the redline is raised to 7100 . . wooooweeeee. Love it!!!

Tomorrow for me. Even just the throttle correction on stock program is a real improvement. And auto tran is shifting a lot quicker too. Tomorrow!

Traction control doesnt work in first and second gear; it just blast right through it and that "Slip" light comes on!!!! I think there is even more room for improvement with fine tuning!

Do you know if Nissan closes the throttle plate more around 110 - 120 MPH? How confident are they with the rev limiter moved. I had a 4th gen with a chip that slammed the valves into the pistons, thank God it happened when I was trading it in.

Is there a way to make it invisible to Nissan when issues arise?

Sorry for all the questions

Well, our motors are the same as the Z and the Z's redline is 7,000 I believe. Manufacturers put lots of "padding" in determining redline. In other words, if a motor would blow at 9,000, they probably set it a 6500-7000 just to keep it safe from blowing so they dont have to keep replacing peoples engines. As far as keeping this invisible from the dealer, if a dealer hooked up to the ecu, they probably know its not stock. If something goes wrong with the car, they have to prove that the mod caused the defect in order not to cover it. Its always a calculated risk.

Nissan programs closing of the thorttle as various times in the rpm range. Its very obvious if u have an intake and u can hear the intake opening in repsonse to the pedal being pushed down now whereas before, it didnt respond even close to what it does now.

Cool thanks, I may consider getting a "used" ecu for this, and switching out. Also, the connecting rods may help keep it safe. Looking for redline info on Z, G35c.

Just speculation. But could the rev limiter also be an emissions thing in a sense that it's harder to properly monitor and control things, which means more pollutants get by (not complaining), because in that case the engine is safely reving.

One thing is for sure, I will need a Y and Cat.

Funny thing is Nissan sells the Cam kit but given the choking going on that kit will not really have it's full impact.

Deus,

Your ride should be a replica of mine. err sorry my ride is a replica of yours. xcept color.

6SP, Traction Control, heated seats, fold and dim mirrors etc. So technically i can send mine in to get tuned since yours already is?

Do you still have the 350Z ecu? Could I do a lease on that from you while I send mine in to get Tuned? What would you lease it out for?
PM if your interested.

Thanks,

Kam

Give it a few days. See if Deus has any issues, if not then call them and set it up.

Will the G35 ECU works on my max in the mean time? I just went a blindly bought one one e-pay for $80.

LOL, stupid impulse buyers. Damnit someone tell me we have a full header system and turbo waiting for our cars and watch me pull a bank loan. LOL.......

Okeedokee, hopefully the G35 ECU works and I can send mine in for tunning.

Thanks,
Kam

I would like to know this also. I have seen some of the other ecu's go a lot cheaper than for the max. I want to keep my stock one and have one tuned sowhe I go to sell the car it goes back to stock. <<<nice smiley lol

I had to get me second ecu programmed by the dealer, if you don't it the car might not start cause of the chip in the key's, they only start the oem ecu..

The Z/G fuel cut is the same as ours unless you're talking about the 05 track esition (300 hp). It's said to be @ 7100 RPM, but they have upgraded rod bolts (Track Edition) comapred to all other VQ35's.

Nope... Extended rev limit is emmissions friendly.

Car will not start without hacking the ECU or cloning the key chip.

It's ready. So far 5AT(no VDC) and 6MT (VDC?). 4AT is waiting on some program/equipment from Japan.

My rev limiter is raised too, but kind of pointless for 5AT's.
