no no, the peak shows on the dyno, is where you peak your hp at, it will pull all the way up like mines, but it peaks just like TQ.. this doesn't mean the power stops there..

my HP peak is at 6200 by looking at the graph...

My auto shifts around 6300-6400.

A peak of 6200 could probably use another 500 or so RPM to maximize power under the curve.

you guys are not understanding peak...

peak, is when you reach the most hp in the rpm band... my car is 223hp, it reaches that at 6200 rpms...

I'm not talking about shift rpms, or power through out... with the ecu my car shift way higher than the 6400 posted, I'm at like 7100.. but that not the point..

So now that the hype has died down a bit, and the real world feelings and issues are well knows (at least to you early adopters, Thanks Tek, Deus, others). Its time to answer the hard questions.

1. Is it worth the money?
2. Can it be used safely with CAI, Catback, Nitrous even? (I know there was a lean issue. Was it the Max injectors or was the map wrong?)
3. Any fully tuned HP numbers (Tek, I know you had some early runs. Deus, have you put yours on the dyno yet?)

Thanks for hanging it out there and putting up your cars for doing this! I know there are some others who did it also, sorry if I forgot you, mad props to you.

Depends on what you think is 'worth it'.

Besides N2O, why would it not be bolt on friendly?

Fully tuned, like as in adding an AFC, or as is ...cookie cutter?

"Worth it" as in risk vs. reward for 500 bux worth it?

Just because parts are bolt on doesnt mean they dont cause other things to occur. CAI = ECU learning with higher fuel usage @ high RPM. Catback = breaths better and could ask for more fuel as well. Are our injectors able to handle the greater demands of the sum of all these parts? What about other parts besides the injectors? Was the leaning out a result of the mechanical definiciency or simply an ECU tuning problem?

"Fully tuned" in the cookie cutter sense and meaning with any issues (lean, knocking, anything else). If I buy this ECU now is it ready to go, or will I need to dyno it and send it back to Tadashi with run files to fix issues.

Worth it? I'll get dyno soon, later this week or next week when I have time. It corrects the throttle, so the butterfly actually opens all the way. That by itself can increase gains in other mods.

The modded ECU is tuneable with a piggyback add-on.

If you choose to get this ECU, it's better if you sent it in w/ a dyno w/ AFR printout especially if you have other mods already. It shouldn't be your first mod though.

How is it tunable with piggyback and do u need a dyno to tune it? Also what kind of piggyback?

Like SAFCII or VAFCII to tune air to fuel ratio. Dyno will help fine tune the it. I know Tadashi mapped ours pretty agreesively but still with in a safe limit, as you can tell by the slight difference between the 350Z ECU you had and your flashed ECU. When he had mine mapped really aggressively, the ECU went in to protection mode. The engine temp was probably higher with the Z ECU, like the G35 in my car.

Being a former mustang guy I know that being n/a and up to approx 350-400 hp the stock 19 lb injectors are fine. I never needed to upgrade the injectors until I out a s/c on. I am pretty sure that our 3.5's with bolt ons are fine.
With that said if anyone is concerned about MAF/injectors maxxing out the best way to check is via a dyno.

I think I rember reading this thread that the z just has different fuel mapping in the ecu.
I am curious to what is done for the g35 coupe to have 290hp, and we only have 265.

I'm thinking of getting the ststurbo.com remote mount turbo kit and having a local shop fab all the pipes for me. Would my injectors be enought to run 5lbs of boost?

If i remap the fuel with the TSQ ecu mod, will it work with 5lbs of boost?

Alos DEUS, where do i find my ecu and how do I pull it out?
Thanks,

Kam

these dyno #'s are very different then mine, i dyno tested for berk tech and found that is only gave me 2whp but the max TQ on my best run was 232 and thats at 219.8whp this is at roughly 72 degree running temps. so im hoping with the technosquare ecu i may get some nice #'s. this run was without my Y-pipe or greddys which are now installed and i noticed a difference in low rpm 4th gear pull on the road

I have a how to on taking the ecu off in www.6thgenmaxima.org, but you have to register to see it (its free)

as for the turbo, they claim at 5lbs of boost it will work with the stock set up..

I would get a better fuel pump though...

the ecu will have to be programed before and after the turbo set up, why? cause our cars come real lean as is, put some fuel in it with the ecu and then install the turbo. this will lean it out again, reprogram the ecu after a dyno to see where you need more fuel added to..

you don't wanna run too lean, you can damage your engine..

Lean=boom=new engine, esp under boost. You can run rich all day long but lean only once.....

let me tell you guys, if your car isn't modded at all you really do not know the potential this car has, my car is freaking fast as hell!!!!

TQ steer like a motherf.... with my 22's, but power like I never felt before.

1 word..... WOW, you guys have to get this done for sure...

I'll dyno this weekend if I can..

Would it be possible to make a post summarizing all the info in this thread once you get the new #'s??

I'm curious as to the new dyno numbers (of course) but I'm also interested in what is all changed from stock ie. A/F ratio, timing advance, shift points, etc.

I read through this thread, but it's gotten quite long.

sure I can do a new one starting with the stock numbers all the way up to now...

I dyno on saturday, so keep checking up on it...

as for the discounted price, I can't get a better price for us, TS doesn't do GB's, sorry fellas...

So far no 5AT w/ VDC. TS is getting some equipment to crack the ECU's here, so they don't have to send them back and forth to Japan. I know a few people are waiting for them to get the equipment, like JSmith.
