6th Gen Maxima Rim width question
6th Gen Maxima Rim width question
Hey all, I just chose some new rims by Konig after doing MONTHS of research. I chose the 20" X 9" wide Konig Beyond

But when I placed the order, the sales rep told me that these would rub on my car. Now, I personally think he's just mistaken and/or trying to push me to another wheel because these are on backorder.
However, I would feel reeeeeally stupid if I acted smart, bought these with the 245/35/20 tires and they rubbed.
My car is currently not lowered, so the question is do you think they would rub now? Or might they if I lowered the car a bit?
If you or someone you know have installed 20X9's I'd appreciate your feedback although any input is welcome.

NO NO NO!!!!!!! its been done a million gagillion times! I have 10.5 in the rears with NO rubbing! But the thing is you have to look at your offset. Find out the offset and let us know. But i am pretty sure that what you have chosen will work out just fine. Stick to your guns and get what you want!...PERIOD!!

Use one of these as a guide:

And what do you mean by "safe"?
Check my verification
I wish the calculator sticky in the wheel forum had the OEM data...
Someone please check my numbers, but based on my understanding, the OEM 17" wheel is 8.5" wide and has 45mm offset. -right?
So using the handy tool http://www.rims-n-tires.com/rt_specs.jsp I don't think I have anything to worry about with 20X9's at 45mm offset and the 245/35/20's. It actually shows 7mm more clearance on the inside with the new wheels. Also, I get the same rolling diameter.

Thanks for checking my numbers, I was pretty off on the OEM specs, & didnt feel like sticking my head inside the wheel.
With the new OEM numbers, this is what the calculator said about the new 20X9's with 45mm offset:
"Package is 15 mm (0.6'') closer to suspension/brakes components. Acceptable for most cars." how is this so when the 'backspace' is 31mm more?
"Package will stick out 5 mm (0.2'') farther. Acceptable for most cars."
From what kiddl said I dont see how rubbing is even remotely possible with the setup I'm looking at.
I'd still like some general opinions about whether a 20X9 with 45mm offset is likely to rub on a non-lowered car.

Will a 17x7.5 wheel with a 45mm offset (from a newer G35) with a 225/55/17 tire fit a 2004 Maxima ? I currently have 18x8 245/45/18 and they look great but the ride it too stiff and Im thinking about getting a smaller wheel/bigger sidewall.
