yea ... i could go to the track and ask anyone for a 12.xx slip

if you wanna proove a timeslip of a 6th gen running 12's you better have a vid and make it official

makes it easier for everyone to actually believe you

If I had a good clutch, I'd spray mine for some 11s.

7th gen is the VQ35DE-K. The VQ-HR 3.5L was only available in the latter years of the 350Z (think Nismo 350).

Some of the folks here already listed the reasons for the 30hp increase. Better flowing heads, intake, exhaust, higher compression, etc.

I agree with Taz though.. vids of the pass are needed otherwise I call BS. Trapping 119mph and a 12.4 E/T are impressive, but a 412hp new 5.0 Mustang pulls 12.5-12.7 and around 116.

Hence the same motor as a Altima ,RevUp motor

Errr, not quite. HR or "high-rev" version of the VQ35 was only available in the 350Z and G35 from 2006-2008 and had a redline around 7,500 RPM's. Mine is around 6,400.

If someone could shoehorn an HR version of the 3.5L transversely in a 6th gen, that would be stout to say the least. Those motors had stronger internals, dual throttle bodies and a host of other goodies good for 306hp at the crank. I have a feeling this would be next to impossible through, without deep pockets.

I've never see VQ35DE-K, is that add a power for "K" for gain 30 hp w/ new mod?

And I see a cardomain said 12.4 @ 119 mph (my opinion 119 is high trap and 12.4 cause by bad launch if good launch maybe 11.8 to 12.2. im guess, but i want to see timeslip or video!

Its a free country but I dont understand why you'd want to sink so much money into a car just to repeatedly destroy it and fix it because it isnt built for the power.

I agree with Taz, it's not about money since most mods people do cost less than people who jump between a new car every 3-4 years with big negative balances. I do it to be different so when I roll into a show people want to see something different. I know me personally, I never tried to build a race car, my goal was to build a fun car that went fast, had a great sound, looked great, braked on a dime, handles like a G, and could haul 5 people in comfort! When I want to go fast, I break out my 2010 Camaro SS Supercharged that puts down about 620+hp :-)

Taz, you took the words right out of my mouth! I was at a meet-up Monday in Springfield, the only Maxima there! Following the herd has never interested me.

Have you ever taken the Camaro to the track yet, and if so what are you running on the 1/4 mile?

The 7th gen comes with the DE Motor. Only the newer RWD Nissan and infiniti cars comes with the HR motor.
