Anyone using Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF instead of matic K?

I have an 06' with the much discussed shifting issues, I have 135k and it's been happening for about 10miles now. Since I'm having issues with the transmission already, I figured, why not? I'd been wanting to do it for awhile anyway, was probably gonna have to spend a couple grand on it anyway. Oh, and the closest stealership was 140 miles away. So I tried it.
So after 3 consecutive drain and fills with a little driving (both D and R) in between each, I felt pretty confident that the K had been replaced by the M1. To my surprise, or maybe not, the cars shifting became smoother and smoother with every fill. Unfortunately 1500 miles later, I am experiencing the same problems I was before the drain and fill. I went and bought 8 qts of K and will using all of it to draining and fill tomorrow.
I had not heard of QMI, but I think I will be trying that as the last drain and fill effort before trying the transgo kit, and if that doesn't work, an upgraded valve body.
I am interested to see the results. I'll keep you all posted.

I think maybe that is what was made clear to you? The decision that I came to was based on numerous factors, a few of which I discussed in my post. It sounds like there are some other posters that are quite happy with M1. Honestly, I am quite happy with it's performance due to the fact that it completely cleared up my shifting issues, even if it was short lived. My prediction is that the K will only work for a short while as well. I don't know this for a fact yet because the K won't be going back in until tomorrow morning as today turned into a lazy Sunday. That remains to be seen. Another thing is this, I'm of the mind that my tranny is going, so I don't mind being a guinea pig for my fellow .org members. I realize that I have very few posts, but I have been reading this site for quite a few years now and have tinkered with multiple generations of Maximas. I am familiar with many of the senior members and have a lot of respect for a lot of people on here so once again, I'm your guinea pig.

I completely agree with the first part of that statement. With that being said, I'm thinking that you're referring to my car in the second part. If that is the case, than my question is, at what point did you assume the bad maintenance?

Hm, I quite understand your plight. May be you need to search more in Ghana; or else you just got to import it. It's available here in Lagos, Nigeria---and it took me a while to discover that.
